2. Content Area and Pedagogical Knowledge

The competent teacher has in-depth understanding of content area knowledge that includes central concepts, methods of inquiry, structures of the disciplines, and content area literacy. The teacher creates meaningful learning experiences for each student based upon interactions among content area and pedagogical knowledge, and evidence-based practice.

Educational Philosophy Paper (below). I wrote this essay as a part of my Introduction to Education class. We spent some time discussing different philosophies and how they play into an educator's teaching style. We had to choose which philosophy we most agreed with and then research one influential figure who also held that philosophy.
