I am a sophomore at the Johns Hopkins University, majoring in Behavioral Biology, minoring in Spanish for the Professions, and on the pre-med track. I currently intend to enter maternal fetal medicine and am especially interested in working with same-sex couples. However, I am still open to a variety of other medical fields of study. As such, I am interested in opportunities that will augment my understanding of maternal fetal medicine or the necessary skills for it, along with those that will expose me to alternative medical professions. At Johns Hopkins, I am a member of the JUMP (Johns Hopkins Underrepresented in Medical Professions) community and a member of ¡Baila!, Johns Hopkins' only Latin dance group. I am also currently employed as a lifeguard at the university's recreation center.
As an alumna of an all-girls high school, I am passionate about empowering young women to pursue careers in male-dominated fields. I have witnessed, first hand, the difference that positive voices like these can have years later.
