My process of making my splatter paintings consists of two parts. First, I lay my canvas down on the ground and pour onto it either water or wall paint. I continue this step by alternating between spray paints, ink, acrylics, turpentine, and gallons of water in terms of what I dump onto the canvas. The result is a completely unique painting, consisting of complex patterns and shapes that even if I tried, I would not be able to recreate. Therefore, every painting is 100% one-of-a-kind! At this point in my process, the canvas is soaking wet, so I let it dry for several days. Then, I begin part 2 of the process, which is going back over the dried painting with oil paint to highlight certain shapes that I find interesting and try to create more of an "explosion of color" effect on the painting. The painting dries for several days, and then I go back with a fine brush to add details into the painting. After this, my work is complete and the painting is ready for its new home!
