Extracurriculars
During my Sophomore year, I started taking professional pictures of many sports teams from different areas in Los Angeles such as Burbank High, Sierra Canyon, Mater Dei, and Canyon High School. I decided to enroll in a photography class to enhance my editing skills and learn multiple techniques though Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe After Effects. From here, I started my own photography page on Instagram to create content for athletes and gain support from viewers. This year, I joined the Photography Club where we discuss the a new theme for each month's photo competition. Once all the photos are submitted, three judges then decide the winner and receive their photo along with a prize. Photography allows you to connect with athletes and express their skills as a from of art while discovering new angles.
Key Club is a non-profit organization that connects many students through group activities that help enhance their communication and leadership skills. As a member, we have the opportunity to represent Division 16 South by participating in events such as Fall Rally, volunteering for numerous community projects, and attending District Convention at the end of each term. Being a White Tiger has improved my problem solving skills and creativity to be able to develop a unique solution as team. It has also allowed me to meet new people and create lasting friendships and memories!
CSF is an organization that honors students through their academic excellence and provides them the opportunity to earn service hours through volunteer work and tutoring. In order to complete our service requirement, students need at least 10 credits per semester to be eligible for a graduation stole and cord. Since my Freshman year, I've been able to guide students in subjects such as Spanish, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. This allows me to also connect with each individual and build their knowledge in different subjects.
Sports
Swim has been apart of my life since I was in elementary school. In 3rd grade, I started competing competitively with Los Angeles Racers Swim Club where I specialize in swimming 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 butterfly. As I got older, I achieved multiple Junior Age Group and National cuts while competing in the Senior division. When I tried out for the team, I made varsity and we competed in the Pacific League in order to earn qualifying CIF times for specific events. During my Junior year, our team qualified for the Division 3 CIF Southern Section Championship in the 200 IM relay. Although we didn't qualify for the State Championships, our goal is to qualify for more individual events and relays this year.
My dad introduced me to basketball when I was 5 years old and I became in love with the sport. During my Freshman and Sophomore year, I played varsity basketball where we competed in the Pacific League in order to get to the Division 3 playoffs. Over the summer, I played for Nike EYBL Cal Stars 16U and Balboa Hills 17U team to work on my fundamentals and gain exposure playing with upperclassman and working with college coaches. I received multiple camp invites from different colleges including California State University Los Angeles and California State University Dominquez Hills. Unfortunately, I sustained an injury and ruptured my ACL. Although I didn't get to play my Junior year, I spent time recovering and attending Physical Therapy sessions to become physically and mentally stronger. Once I was fully healed, I was cleared to play my last season of club basketball with Socal Reign.
