Soo-Jin Lee received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Sogang University, Seoul, Korea, in 1984 and 1986, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY, USA, in 1995. From 1986 to 1991, he was a Research Staff Member at the Research Center of LG (formerly GoldStar) Electronics Co. Ltd., Anyang, Korea, where he worked on the development of magnetic resonance imaging systems. In 1995, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Medical Image Processing Laboratory (closed in 2017), Department of Radiology, Renaissance School of Medicine, Stony Brook University. In 1996, he was a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Imaging Media Research, Korea Institute of Science and Technology. In 1997, he joined the faculty of Electronic Engineering at Paichai University in Daejeon, Korea, where he served until his retirement in February 2026. From March 2004 to February 2005, he was a Visiting Associate Professor of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology, David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California Los Angeles, CA, USA. He is currently a Professor Emeritus of Electronic Engineering at Paichai University. His research interests include computational imaging and medical image processing with a focus on machine learning methods for tomographic reconstruction. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
