It is pretty clear that Sony is through with the apps. The RX10iv does not have then and neither do the A7iii, A7riii and A9. My RX 100iv does but that was probably the last generation. Users made a fuss on the boards when the A9 had none but nothing since indicates it is history.

Most of the posts I've seen indicate PlayMemories apps aren't supported in the RX100 Va. So far all cameras using the processor used initially in the a9 don't support apps. The online guide also lacks a section for adding apps.

Alternatively, you can use the voice search or keyboard search on the Home screen to look for apps without using the Apps tab. If the app is available, you will get a Google Play Store search result, and you'll be able to download the app immediately.

Alternatively, press the input key on your remote (). You can add apps to your input menu by moving to the right and selecting them from the available list. The Google Play Store is one of those apps.

Moreover, older TVs can't support new apps because of system requirements and a lack of processing power.

It's like trying to install a new app on first-generation smartphones. It requires too much of the device.

I just found out that I can run an html5 app from a USB key on my Sony Bravia TV. I tried out the "show a website" app and it actually works: -bravia.sony.net/develop/app/samples/index.htmlHowever, I was not able to install it on my TV. This kind of code does not seem to work:

I've a Sony TV (Bravia KD-55X8505B ; fw PKG3.004EUA) since 2 years and I'm very happy about this product. However, since 2 weeks, apps are not working (not able to laucnh it) and if I try to install a new one, the list of apps is empty.

I have done a search on other Sony forums as well as other technology forums too and can not find any others reporting this problem. I also checked with the forum manager to see if he had heard of any issues in regards to SEN apps etc. It appears that only yourself that is having the problem, with a couple of people begining to middle of last month - so I can only take it that it is isolated to you at this stage.

Hi, I am in uk, and I have solved this problem after it driving me MAD and coming to a blank several times looking for solutions on the internet, none of them worked, rebooting, reconnecting to wifi bla bla bla. So last night I gave it my last shot and I found the following AND IT WORKED. It is caused by a Bravia server upgrade in May 2018. We now have all straming apps present and I am really chufffed.

Intervalometer, bracketing, connection that stays active even when you switch between apps or lock the screen, Apple Watch support, easier to use exposure controls, and tap to focus on a few models not officially supported by Sony: a7C, a7R IV, a7S III, a9, a9 II, RX100 VII, ZV-E10, ZV-1, FX-3.

theses are features I want in a camera app:

shutter bracket so I can quickly get different amounts of motion blur without changing overall exposure. Ability to adjust 100% of cameras settings, basically I would rather scroll through my camera's menu on a tablet. Would like to have buttons on the phone/tablet that I could program. Example have an exposure bracket button, have a pixel shift button, have a shutter bracket button. Would like some kind of warning if the app detected tripod shake during pixel shift bracket. Ability to manually adjust exposure within the intervalometer during a Timelapse sequence. Ability for the intervalometer to auto adjust exposure (day to night) Ability to type in metadata that would be recorded into the Raw not just copyright, keywords or description. App needs to be designed with a larger screen version and small screen version phone vs tablet. Visual response so I can adjust objects in the scene and see placement without a stutter. anything over $5 is too expensive to try out. Sorry we've all been burned on apps that we paid $$$ that just didn't work, died off, had too many hiccups, etc.

We want to add GPS capture eventually. In the meantime, you should be able to get this feature easily from Sony's Imaging Edge Mobile. Those two apps are not going to interfere. You can have location tagging permanently paired with the Imaging Edge Mobile, and use Shutter for your shooting needs. If you run into any difficulties, I'm always happy to help. ("Contact Us" button in the app, or help@shutter.dev, or contact form on )

Transferring images from the camera to a smartphone is one of my most-used features on camera apps. But Sony has added a few new features here, though a few of them are rather hidden. Photographers can still use the smartphone to view and then transfer images that are on the camera, just like with the Imaging Edge app.

I'd like to bring up an important matter regarding the accessibility of the Twitch application on LG TVs and Sony PlayStation. As someone who is Deaf, I rely on subtitles/closed captions to fully engage with the content on Twitch. Unfortunately, the absence of this feature on the LG TV and Sony PlayStation Twitch apps has been quite disappointing.

The Solution:

I kindly urge Twitch to prioritize the implementation of subtitles/closed captions on the LG TV and Sony PlayStation apps. This addition would greatly enhance the accessibility of the platform and ensure that everyone, regardless of their hearing ability, can actively participate in the Twitch community.

Support and Engagement:

Let's unite as a community to advocate for this enhancement. If you support the idea of subtitles/closed captions on the LG TV and Sony PlayStation Twitch apps, please upvote this post and share it with others. By working together, we can make Twitch a more inclusive platform for all users.

You can also access USB photos, music, and videos in the new menu. A section called Connected Devices will have an icon for a connected USB drive. The interface is much like the main app screen: a bunch of large icons, this time representing files instead of apps.

I have a Sony xr55A80J Smart TV. Watching Now TV (Sports) the TV sometimes completely freezes up. Nothing works from the remote only option is to switch off at plug. I have taken to doing a TV restart each day which closes off the Now app and that is ok, but I shouldn't have to do that. Interestingly I also have the Sony xr55A90J and that has never had an issue. I have a call open with Sony, but you get all the usual questions like do a factory reset etc. which I've done twice to no avail. Other apps like iplayer, discovery plus etc. all seem to be fine. I use Now superfast Broadband and it is perfectly reliable and TVs are ethernet wired so there aren't any network issues

Thanks Gav. I don't use Paramount+ personally. I agree possibly clearing cache would do but as I said restarting the TV each morning (no that I should have to) which presumably closes open apps and cache etc.

I am wondering if the Cache has something to do with it. Yesterday I cleared the cache rather than rebooting. This morning I went into settings/apps and Now was not showing in the recently opened list!. Opened Now and hasn't yet frozen. ff782bc1db
