If you want wired in-ear earbuds with a secure silicone fit and a tangle-reducing cord, choose SONY MDREX15LP; if you need adjustable ear clips and splash resistance for exercise, choose JVC HAEB75G. For meetings, I’d choose the Sony for its conventional in-ear design, while noting that neither model is Bluetooth or lists a built-in microphone.
• SONY MDREX15LP: Hybrid silicone earbuds, 9 mm drivers, and a sliding cord keeper; the trade-off is a conventional wired design with no listed microphone.
• JVC HAEB75G: Five-position adjustable ear clips, splash resistance, and 13.5 mm drivers; the trade-off is that its sports-focused clip fit may not suit everyone.
• For meetings: Sony is the more straightforward choice if you want in-ear earbuds, but neither sheet lists a microphone or Bluetooth connection.
• For workouts: JVC is the more purpose-built option, with clips intended to help keep the earbuds secure and a splash-proof design.
• Choose Sony if a silicone in-ear fit and a cord designed to resist tangling matter most; choose JVC if adjustable ear clips and splash resistance matter more.
The Sony MDREX15LP is a wired, in-ear earbud set built around 9 mm dynamic drivers and hybrid silicone earbuds. The design puts the earpieces directly in the ears, with the silicone intended to support a secure, comfortable fit. Its Y-shaped cord includes a slider to help keep the cable from tangling when it is put away or moved around.
For meetings, the Sony is the simpler of these two designs to consider if you prefer conventional earbuds and already have a device with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. But there is an important limitation: the product information identifies this model as having no microphone. That makes it unsuitable as a standalone choice for speaking on calls unless you use a separate microphone or another call setup. It is also wired, not Bluetooth, so it is not a match for someone who specifically wants wireless headphones.

The JVC HAEB75G takes a different approach: it has sports ear clips with five selectable positions, designed to let the wearer adjust how the clips sit for a secure fit. The product is also described as splash-proof, so its feature set is aimed more clearly at exercise than the Sony’s. Its 13.5 mm dynamic drivers are larger than the Sony’s 9 mm drivers, and JVC describes the earpieces as bass-boosting.
That combination makes the JVC the more relevant option for someone who wants wired headphones for workouts and values an adjustable clip structure. It also has a 3.5 mm jack, so it needs a compatible wired device. Like the Sony, it does not list Bluetooth. The product information also specifies no noise control and does not list a microphone, so I wouldn’t choose it on the assumption that it can handle wireless listening or calls by itself.
The JVC’s listed frequency range is 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, and its impedance is 16 ohms. Those figures describe the stated specifications; they don’t establish that it will sound better than the Sony. Choose the JVC for its adjustable ear clips and splash-proof sports design. Skip it if you want ordinary silicone earbuds, need a built-in microphone for meetings, or would rather not have clips around your ears.
• Best for a conventional in-ear fit → SONY MDREX15LP. Its hybrid silicone earbuds are the more familiar earbud-style design.
• Best for adjustable ear clips → JVC HAEB75G. The clips have five selectable positions, giving you a way to adjust the fit.
• Best for exercise in splash-prone conditions → JVC HAEB75G. It is described as splash-proof and is explicitly designed as a sports clip headphone.
• Best for keeping the cord from tangling → SONY MDREX15LP. Its Y-type cable has a slider intended to help manage tangles.
• Best for meetings when you only need to listen → SONY MDREX15LP, with a caveat. Its conventional in-ear design may fit that use, but it has no listed microphone, so it is not a complete hands-free meeting headset.
• Best for bass-focused listening by stated design → JVC HAEB75G. Its earpieces are described as bass-boosting; that feature alone does not prove it will sound better to you.
• Best if you need Bluetooth → Neither. Both models are wired and use a 3.5 mm jack.
• Best if you need an integrated microphone → Neither. Neither product information lists a built-in mic.
A search for “open ear headphones for meetings” points to a different kind of product than either of these. Both models are described as in-ear headphones, and the JVC adds ear clips; neither is presented as an open-ear design. Likewise, someone looking for the best Bluetooth headphones for meetings should keep looking, since both are wired and neither lists a microphone.
My Verdict
I’d choose the SONY MDREX15LP for general wired listening and for meetings where I only need to hear audio through earbuds. Its silicone in-ear design and cord slider make it the more straightforward everyday option for me.
That recommendation has a clear limit: neither model lists a microphone, and both need a 3.5 mm connection. If I were buying specifically for exercise, I’d choose the JVC instead for its adjustable clips and splash-proof design. For meetings where I need to speak, I’d choose neither without a separate microphone solution.
No. Both are wired headphones with a 3.5 mm jack. Neither is listed as a Bluetooth model, so you’ll need a compatible wired connection or an appropriate adapter.
For listening to meeting audio, I’d lean toward the Sony because it has a conventional in-ear design. Neither product lists a microphone, so neither should be treated as a complete headset for speaking on calls.
The JVC is described as splash-proof and has adjustable sports clips intended to support a secure fit. Those features make it the more exercise-oriented choice, but the information does not provide a broader durability rating or guarantee.
The specifications alone don’t establish which will sound better to you. Sony lists 9 mm drivers and a frequency range of 8 Hz to 22 kHz; JVC lists 13.5 mm drivers and describes its earpieces as bass-boosting. Fit, device compatibility, and your sound preferences matter too.
