I have a growing photo library that I would like to share with multiple computers on my home network. I have been using Nikon ViewNX and it allows me to access photo folders on any computer on my network. It's slower than I would like but it does work. I wish ViewNX had a little more to offer for editing. I have tried IPhoto and like it less than ViewNX. I have been going to move over to Aperature about a dozen times but you can't share photo's with other computers. same with lightroom. Both Lightroom and Aperature are great, just wish one of them supported networked libraries. How is everyone working around sharing libraries on different computers? Is anyone using something that works better?

How is your network set up? We have a MacPro as our primary workstation with drive towers connected via eSata. Aperture libraries are one the drives connected to the MacPro. The iMac (upstairs), connects to the MacPro via a gigabit network and we access the Aperture libraries via sharing and we don't have any issues. Of course we never access the same library at the same time. And Ram is really important. We started with the stock 4GB in the iMac and it was useable. We went to 12GB and the difference is night and day.

My preferred way of organizing files is in folders (yyyy-mm-dd). This also because we have a home network here and i like to store the files on the Synology NAS. So i can use them from other network stations as well. A simple file organization without a proprietary database/catalog/library makes this much easier. Also because you are tied to one piece of software to work with.

Additional information which may be useful, I was able to see my router listed under the home network device list on the receiver but not my PC. Likewise I cannot see my receiver listed in my Network devices on my PC

iTunes - This is where my knowledge lacks unfortunately (sorry I hate apple) - Reading page 72 of the manual, it states that you can stream from your iTunes library via a PC - However it must be down Wirelessly and not connected via a network cable, as it uses Airplay.

SPHE is responsible for the distribution of the Sony Pictures library for home entertainment, mainly releases from the Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group (Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Sony Pictures Classics, and Screen Gems) as well as releases from Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (Triumph Films, Destination Films, Stage 6 Films and Affirm Films). SPHE also releases and distributes products from Revolution Studios and The Criterion Collection. Since June 20, 2007, SPHE has handled distribution of children's content formerly handled by Sony BMG's Sony Wonder label.[1]

In 2005, when Sony and four partners acquired Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) from Kirk Kerkorian, SPHE held the domestic home entertainment rights to MGM's 4,000 film and 10,400 television episode library, though the releases used the MGM DVD label. On May 31, 2006, MGM ended its distribution deal with SPHE and transferred most of its output to 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

I have a Windows 7 server computer in a closet near our living room plasma TV. I run DVI video to the TV and simple analog audio to a Logitech 2.1 speaker system near the TV. The server computer has a large internal drive dedicated to media including recorded TV. The media drive is shared on the home LAN. Media Center is installed on the server computer with media networking fully enabled.

Content from various apps is displayed throughout the For you tab. Also, content purchased or rented on your Google Account can be accessed directly on the Library tab. Content added to your watchlist will also appear in your library. You can even add to your watchlist from your smartphone while you are out and have the content waiting in your library when you return home.

Note:  The For you tab may not be available depending on your country or region.

I use Poweramp and a local library primarily because I'm SIM off and airplane mode all the time, but just got Finamp working with Jellyfin so have my entire music library when on my home network. Took me a few hours to figure out I needed to go to settings > Network & Internet > VPN and turn off Block connections without VPN, then go into my VPN app settings and add Finamp to the split tunnel list. Might soon try remote access over wifi with Tailscale like rambleon suggested

I cannot get my sons PS4 to connect to the internet. I am running Orbi RBR50 (v.2.7.3.22) with 2 satellites - RBW30 (2.6.2.6) and RBS50(v.2.7.3.22). I am running my entire house on Orbi- with 30 devices at any one time ( multiple laptops, smart home, etc),with internet speeds in the 150-225 almost everywhere in the house. I have done all of the firmware updates, I have done port forwarding for PlayStation network on the att modem and the Orbi routers. I have disabled Circle.

the PlayStation is actually on the network, and can be seen from both Orbi pplications and the PS itself. It just can't connect to the internet. Getting different errors that have been worked through withSony support.. PS4 is fine, has all updates and can get to the internet via cell phone and other networks.

There are two types of remote device access that you will typically need. Thefirst, simpler kind is from within your home network. If you are runningcalibre on a computer on your home network and you have also connected yourother devices to the same home network, then you should be easily able toaccess the server on those devices.

The server interface is a simplified version of the main calibre interface, optimised for use with touch screens. The home screen shows you booksyou are currently reading as well as allowing to choose a calibre library youwant to browse. The server in calibre gives you access to all your libraries, not just a single one, as before.

What Xfinity Stream content can I cast with AirPlay on my compatible TV or devices?

While connected to your in-home WiFi network, any Xfinity Stream content available to you can be cast using AirPlay from your Apple devices. This includes live and On Demand programming, cloud DVR recordings and purchases.

Why does the Xfinity Stream app say I need to be on my home network? I'm on my home network.

Be sure you're connected to your in-home Xfinity network. You might be on the network called xfinitywifi, which is a WiFi hotspot that guests (who are Xfinity Internet customers) can use, so you don't need to give out your password. If your modem or gateway is provided by Xfinity, the network name is usually on the side or bottom of the modem or gateway.

How many devices I can stream to using the AirPlay software feature?

If you have Xfinity TV (X1 and non-X1 service), you can stream concurrently on five devices, but only three devices can be out-of-home network. 2351a5e196
