SONRISE WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDIES

When do the small groups meet?

SonRise has two semesters which follow the conventional school year.

Fall: September-early December

Spring: January-April.

Where do the groups meet?

The groups meet at various Kearney churches and in homes. In the past we've also met in office buildings

What do you study?

Each year we have new choices, which are listed on the registration form. The books for the various studies are displayed at The Solid Rock, 1010 3rd Avenue (adjacent to Good Evans restaurant) in Kearney. Studies vary in price, amount of homework, and subject.

How do I register? Register in one of three ways:

If you would like to enroll midyear, please contact Pam Deterding at (308)627-7256 or Renee Brodine at (308)224-9648. We will gladly find a space for you.

How do I register my child for Bible Club?

Bible Club is on Tuesday mornings during our study semesters.  It is for children ages 6 and under. You may fill out the Bible Club registration form at Open House or at The Solid Rock bookstore. Another option is to use the online form located on the registration page of our website.

How do I know which group I am in and when our first meeting will be?

Your discussion leader will contact you at least a week before you begin. Study groups will begin Sep. 16th and 18th.

What do I need to do to prepare for the first meeting?

Buy the study guide.  Your leader will inform you if you have homework before the first meeting. Guides will be available for purchase at the Open House.

What if I have never studied the Bible before?

We’re so glad you are coming! There are other beginners at SonRise, and we’ve all been beginners at one time, so you will have lots of understanding and support. Do the best you can on the first lesson, you will get help at group.

What if I cannot afford the price of the study?

Scholarships for half the price of the book are available. Please contact your group leader.

How is SonRise supported financially?

Though the costs for Bible club, printing, DVDs and scholarships are hundreds of dollars yearly, God has provided for SonRise through the free will offerings of its members. There will be an opportunity to give during the first few weeks of the semester, or a check made out to SonRise can be mailed to Renee Brodine.  This is an offering and not a fee. If we run short, the leaders will make our need known. We are thankful for your generosity. (2 Corinthians 9:7)

What if there is bad weather?

If Kearney Public Schools are canceled, SonRise is canceled. If they open late because of weather, Tuesday Early Birds, 9am studies, and Bible Club are canceled.

What if I have a question?

Please contact Renee Brodine at (308)224-9648.
