SonicOS is a local music player for Android. It plays audio files stored on your device, enhances sound quality, and organizes your music library.
SonicOS does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:
We do not collect your name, email, location, or any identifying information
We do not upload your music files or audio data anywhere
We do not track your listening habits or history
We do not use analytics, crash reporting services, or advertising SDKs
We do not sell, share, or rent any data to third parties
We do not connect to the internet at any point during normal use
READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE Required to access music files stored on your device. Files are read locally — never uploaded.
RECORD_AUDIO Required by Android to enable the audio visualizer (spectrum display). No audio is recorded or saved.
MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS Required to apply equalizer and Sound Presence audio effects.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK Required to keep music playing when the screen is off or when you switch apps.
WAKE_LOCK Prevents the device from sleeping while music is playing.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS Used to display the media playback notification with controls (play, pause, skip).
Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play. SonicOS does not handle, store, or have access to any payment or billing information. Google's privacy policy governs all payment transactions.
Your music files are never modified, copied, or uploaded. SonicOS reads them in place on your device to play them. When you rename a track title within the app, the display name is stored locally on your device only — the original file is never touched.
SonicOS does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app contains no data collection of any kind.
If this policy changes in a future update, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the app after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
