Sonia Kovalevsky Highschool Mathematics Day

SK Day Mission:
SK Days consist of a program of workshops, talks, and problem-solving competitions for high school and their teachers, both women and men. The purposes are to encourage young girls, non-binary students, and students from underrepresented backgrounds to continue their study of mathematics, to assist them with the sometimes difficult transitions between high school and college mathematics, to assist the teachers of women mathematics students, and to encourage colleges and universities to develop more extensive cooperation high schools in their area.

Activities:
Students will have the opportunity to work through some activities with undergraduate and graduate students from Rutgers
Talks from mathematicians:
Learn some math from the faculty at Rutgers University
Workshops:
Workshops will be available for teachers and parents about how you can encourage your students to continue on in STEM.
Panels:
Academic Panel:
Speak with undergraduate and graduate students and professors about what academia is like
Career Panel
Speak with mathematicians from many different careers about what else you can do in mathematics or other STEM fields
