I've just had a pretty big realization that a lot of the reason I can't find good musical transitions is that I just don't like the way it sounds when I play it back and play alongside the tabs I've made in guitar pro. However, when you upload it to songsterr, they do something that generates a soundfile, and now listening to one of my tabs on there, I'm realizing I've been doing totally fine for the longest time trying to figure stuff out. I know this isn't explicitly a guitarpro question but maybe people here know the answer? How do they generate that guitar tone?

After downloading a .gp5 song from Songsterr I'm not able to reproduce the sound engine tones from the guitar tracks, especially having a somewhat realistic palm muting which appears on Songsterr. Does Songsterr have separate tone generation that doesn't appear in the downloaded files? Going through different versions of the song on Songsterr I can hear the most recent version includes more realistic tones, but I'm not able to see (or hear) any different in the files in GP8 (or GP5 with RSE) after I open them up.

what's up my fellow math rockers.

I love learning riffs on songsterr, but love learning them even more via Guitar Pro, because i get to slow down the tempo and stuff.

I also didn't want to pay for songsterr premium.

I created a songsterr downloader that works pretty well.

i might extend it to work with Ultimate guitar as well.

let me know how you like it!

I just wanted to make this clear for anyone new to the guitar and looking for tabs. You may have noticed that the top result for tabs is often Ultimate Guitar. However, if you scroll further, you'll probably find a tab for the same song on a site called Songsterr. Now, why do I believe it is the superior site? Well, Songsterr lets you play the tab and is more accurate. It is often has the most accurate tabs if not the official ones. UG also has official tabs, but they are not free, and you have to pay to learn them. I am in no way associated with Songsterr, but in my opinion, it is way better.

Also, to improve your in-app experiences, you can now make uses of the available tabs and chords to learn many of your favorite instruments, aside from the standard guitar. Have fun with bass, drums, vocals, and many other interesting instruments, which you can now attempt to master in Songsterr Guitar Tabs & Chords.

And now, with the simple and accessible practice options, you can further improve your learning experiences, not just with the guitar but many other instruments in Songsterr Guitar Tabs & Chords. Feel free to make uses of the multi-speed playback to simply slow down your track so you can easily learn difficult parts with the slowest pace possible.

And combined with other great guitar apps, such as Ultimate Guitar: Chords & Tabs and Latin Chords Pro, you can quickly learn the craft. Feel free to access our website to get any of these mentioned apps and help you learn faster.

Songsterr is the guitar tab website I most often recommend. Not only are they one of the most popular guitar tab sites, but they're also easy to use, and have one of the highest-quality tablature forms with a full score, and MIDI playback for every song in their database.

A free Songsterr account is one of the best guitar tab resources available, with an easy-to-read score and discernible time signatures. This has made it one of the best places to learn guitar songs, particularly among resources that are free.

To summarize, we'd absolutely recommend the free account, while pumping the breaks on the paid account in favor of better alternatives. For most players, the quality tab sheets, playback, and helpful search mechanisms will be all you need. Every time I'm looking for a song now, I literally just type in the "guitar tab" search term, then add a "+ Songsterr" to the end of it.

If you buy the songsterr subscription are there other fees inside, I am just starting learn guitar and non of the other ones you mentioned tell me if you can slow the tab, or loop it, I need to be able to do that. Any ideas.

Thanks Jay

Ultimate Guitar does have a playback feature for pro tabs, but note values are not visible on the page. It is on Songsterr. It eliminates a lot of guessing, and makes it easier to practice with a metronome. Learn more about guitar timing and notation in my detailed article on tabs.

So there was first just listening to Elizabeth Cotten, Doc Watson, and some of the more popular pickers. But then I started learning about people like John Snipes. I also heard Sparky Rucker the very first time through the archives and then getting to meet him later was wonderful. But it came on just like a wave. And again, the more I began to delve into Piedmont music, I found, an intriguing and engaging story began to evolve as well, that included banjo music, as well as the evolution of banjo music into guitar music, and its own type of way. So I started to learn a little of all three of those styles.
