Magnificat ("we," "our," or "us") operates the SongChordEditor mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App.
Song Data: Songs, lyrics, chords, and projects you create within the App are stored locally on your device.
Audio Recordings: If you use the recording feature, audio files are stored locally on your device.
Device Information

General location (country/region level, not precise location)
Advertising Data
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect information to serve ads, including:
Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
App usage patterns related to ad display
Local Storage: Your songs, projects, and recordings are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
Advertising: We display ads through Google AdMob to support the free version of the App. Ad-related data is used to serve relevant advertisements.

Local Data: All your songs, projects, and recordings are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data.
Backups: If you use Android's backup features, your app data may be backed up according to your device settings.
No Account Required: The App does not require account creation or login.
The App requests the following permissions:
Internet: Required to display advertisements
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used only when you choose to record audio within the App. Audio is stored locally and not transmitted.
Billing: Used for in-app purchases to remove ads or unlock premium features
The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App is configured to not serve ads to users identified as under the age of consent.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Use the privacy options in the App settings
Reset your Advertising ID on your device
For local data (songs, projects, recordings), you have full control through the App and can delete any data at any time.

Song and Project Data: Lyrics, chord charts, tablature, project names, and any content you create or import into the App.

Your song data, projects, and recordings are stored locally on your device using Core Data with file protection enabled. This means your data is encrypted when your device is locked.
The App uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your data across your devices signed into the same iCloud account. This includes:
Songs and chord charts
Projects and setlists
Audio recordings and memos
Collaboration shares
Your iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
When you share a project:
Other participants can view and edit shared content
Participant iCloud identities are visible to collaborators
You can revoke access at any time
If you leave a shared project, your local copy remains but sync stops
The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Google may collect:
Advertising ID (IDFA) with your consent
Device information
IP address
App usage data

On iOS 14.5+, we request your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes. You can:
Allow Tracking: Receive personalized ads based on your interests
Ask App Not to Track: Receive contextual ads that are not personalized
You can change this setting anytime in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
We participate in Apple's SKAdNetwork for privacy-preserving ad attribution. This does not identify you personally.
You can remove all advertisements by purchasing the "Remove Ads" lifetime upgrade. This eliminates all ad-related data collection by third-party ad networks within the App.
The App requests microphone access for:
Guitar Tuner: Detecting pitch to help you tune your instrument
Audio Recording: Recording practice sessions or song memos
Microphone data is processed locally on your device. Audio recordings are stored only on your device and in your iCloud account (if sync is enabled). We do not transmit audio data to our servers.
Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect or store your payment information. Purchase records are stored locally to verify your entitlements. Apple's handling of payment data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these limited circumstances:
With Your Consent: When you share projects with collaborators
Service Providers: Google (for advertising) and Apple (for iCloud sync and payments)
Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights
Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
Local Data: Remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App
iCloud Data: Synced data persists in your iCloud account until you delete it
Ad-Related Data: Governed by Google's data retention policies
Export: Export your songs in PDF, text, or JSON formats
Backup: Create local backups of your data
Delete: Delete individual songs, projects, or all App data
iCloud: Manage synced data in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage
Personalized Ads: Deny tracking via App Tracking Transparency prompt
All Ads: Purchase the "Remove Ads" upgrade
iCloud Sync: Disable in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > SongChordEditor
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data:
File-level encryption on device
Encrypted iCloud transmission and storage
No transmission of song content to third-party servers
However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where Apple operates iCloud infrastructure. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
