National Climate Change Warning Center / SonFire Almanacs LLC is a locally owned company based in Southeast Oklahoma, established in 2017. The organization develops weather and climate applications, forecasting frameworks, research publications, and educational resources focused on climate science and severe weather. The company is led by CEO Wayne Adams, who holds a Master of Science in Climate Science from Unity Environmental University. Unity Environmental University is institutionally accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
SonFire Almanacs LLC is working in a joint venture with the Town of Panama, Oklahoma, to develop and evaluate an innovative house-level tornado prediction model. The system is designed to identify individual properties that may be at greater risk during severe weather events, providing localized decision-support information for emergency preparedness and response. The model has been undergoing testing and refinement in partnership with the Panama Police Department Chief of Police for the past two years. Upon successful completion of testing and validation, the application is planned for release to mobile app stores, making its technology available to communities across the United States.
