We have known Ms. Mitchell for almost a year. She was our son’s violin teacher both at school and as a private tutor outside of school. Ms. Mitchell has been an amazing inspiration to our son. He started violin lessons when he was in third grade. He had never played the violin before and in a few weeks was playing beautiful melodies. We could not believe the amount of progress he acquired in such a short period of time. Ms. Mitchell is very patient and kind with the kids and her ability to instill a love of music in them is unbelievable. My son loves playing the violin and is always eager to practice for his next lesson. In addition Ms. Mitchell was always available and receptive to any questions we had. She even helped us with choosing the most suitable instrument for our son. It has been a pleasure knowing Ms. Mitchell and we are very grateful for the opportunity to have had her as my son’s violin teacher. We miss her very much and wish her all the best.

My daughters began taking lessons with Jessica when they were in 3rd and 4th grade. Jessica was instrumental in providing 1-1 instruction through multiple auditions, recitals as well as providing guidance and direction in regards to the intricacies of their respective instruments (viola and violin). My oldest daughter began Viola as a result of Jessica’s instruction and motivation making sure that she handled the transition from violin to viola. She is now in a private community symphony and plays in her high school. She has also auditioned in Regional Competitions and has had much success in her musical ventures. Jessica is extremely sensitive to the girls needs and provides very thorough instruction but also gives immediate feedback to help them improve. They have grown in their instrumental knowledge as well as their love of music.

I took lessons from Jessica for about 6 years, from 8th to 12th grade. I grew tremendously as a musician under her supervision. With her as my private instructor, I passed the audition for Regional Orchestra in high school and passed the ASU School of Music entrance audition. She was always such a kind and generous person to work with and made learning the violin fun. She helped me with my technique and musical repertoire as well as expanded my understanding of music theory. She is an amazing teacher.

In 4th grade I started on the violin in my orchestra at elementary school and I was the first class Mrs. Mitchell ever taught. In 5th grade I began private lessons with her and began with viola due to Mrs. Mitchell's encouragement. I absolutely fell in love with the instrument and now the viola is my performance instrument while still occasionally playing the violin. With her help I started in a youth symphony in middle school and still play in it currently. I have participated in many auditions including regional auditions for high school and have also been chosen for honor orchestra. Currently I also play in my high school orchestra. Throughout the years, Mrs. Mitchell has become a part of my family and is a very compassionate, loving and multi talented teacher.

Due to Mrs. Mitchell's guidance and high standards I was chosen to play more advanced music and I had the opportunity to represent my orchestra by playing with the district's honor orchestra. I am currently preparing for auditions for advanced groups at my middle school because of Mrs. Mitchell's encouragement and her positive attitude that motivated me to be the best that I could be.
