Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By installing or using Sonara (the “App”), you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.

1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Sonara is designed to work on your device. We do not require accounts, display advertisements, or track you across apps and websites.

We collect only the information necessary to provide optional in-app purchase functionality and respond to support requests.

2. Personal Data

Microphone

Sonara uses your microphone to measure sound levels. Audio is analysed on your device in real time. Sonara never records, stores, or uploads audio.

Only the resulting measurement data, such as decibel levels, averages, and exposure figures, is retained.

Information Stored on Your Device

The following information is stored locally on your device unless you enable iCloud sync:

• Measurement sessions: Date, time, duration, sound levels, measurement settings (weighting, response time, microphone, and calibration offset), and any title, place name, or notes you add.

• Calibration profiles and app settings.

• Report details: Information you enter, such as company name, preparer's name, location, and a logo image you select from Photos.

• Usage analytics: If enabled in Settings, Sonara counts which screens you open. This information remains on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. Analytics is disabled by default.

Location

If you choose to add your location to a session, Sonara requests location access while the App is in use.

Your coordinates are sent to Apple to look up a place name. Only the resulting place name is saved in your session on your device. Sonara does not send your location to us or any other service.

You can decline location access or disable it at any time in iOS Settings.

Photos

If you add a logo to your reports, you select a single image using the iOS photo picker. Sonara does not access the rest of your photo library.

The selected image is resized and stored only on your device.

3. Optional Services

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your saved sessions are stored in your private iCloud database, managed by Apple under your Apple Account.

We cannot access this data. Apple's Privacy Policy applies to information stored in iCloud.

Apple Health

If you enable Apple Health and grant permission, Sonara writes A-weighted sound exposure levels to the Health app.

Sonara only writes this data and does not read any Health data. Health data is never used for advertising or shared with us or any third party.

You can manage or revoke access at any time in the Health app.

4. In-App Purchases

Sonara Pro is available as a one-time purchase. Payments are handled entirely by Apple, and we never receive your payment details.

To validate and restore purchases, Sonara uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service.

RevenueCat may receive:

• An anonymous app user identifier generated by Sonara

• Your Sonara purchase and transaction history

• Basic technical information, including device model, operating system version, app version, and country or region

• Your IP address

This information is used only to unlock and restore Sonara Pro.

5. Information You Provide

If you contact us for support, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message.

Providing this information is voluntary.

6. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described in this policy to:

• Unlock and restore Sonara Pro

• Respond to support requests

• Fix problems and improve the App

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising purposes.

7. Advertising and Tracking

Sonara:

• Does not display advertisements

• Does not use advertising identifiers

• Does not track you across other companies' apps or websites

8. Overseas Disclosure

RevenueCat may process purchase information on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States.

If you enable iCloud sync or Apple Health, your data is handled by Apple under its own terms and may also be stored outside Australia.

9. Your Choices and Deleting Your Data

You can manage your information in the following ways:

• Permissions: Enable or disable microphone, location, and photo access in iOS Settings. Manage Health access in the Health app.

• Delete all data: Use “Delete all my data” in Sonara Settings to remove your sessions, notes, calibration profiles, and report details from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, synced copies are also removed.

• Apple Health data: Sound levels already written to Apple Health are not deleted by Sonara. You can remove them directly in the Health app.

• App deletion: Deleting Sonara removes data stored on your device.

• Privacy requests: Contact us to request access to or correction of any information we hold about you, or to ask questions about your personal information.

10. Children

Sonara is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Most of your data never leaves your device.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Changes take effect when they are posted. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
