in Department of Plant Molecular Biology at University of Delhi South Campus under the supervision of Prof. Girdhar K. Pandey.
My broad research interest mainly focuses on the modern genome engineering technique where my proposed area of research is “Development of abiotic stress tolerant rice by genome editing of calcium signaling components in rice”. I am keen to validate novel biotechnological strategies towards enhancing potassium uptake efficiency in plants through targeted genome editing tool i.e., CRISPR/Cas9 as most of the Indian agricultural soils are potassium-deficient. I am also working on the functional characterization of CBL-CIPK interaction module with various targets in Arabidopsis.
Prior to joining Ph.D., as a Junior Research Fellow (2019-21), I worked on the project entitled "Detail expression analysis of CIPK9 and identification of upstream regulatory sequences responsive to potassium deficiency in Arabidopsis".
I have completed my post-graduation [M.Sc. Plant Biotechnology (2017-19)] from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, where I worked on dissertation as a part of my Course work in the last semester entitled “Studies on seed mycoflora and screening of defense response against Exserohilum turcicum (Pass.) Leo. and Suggs. causing Turcicum Leaf Blight (TLB) in maize (Zea mays L.)”. I had done my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons.) in Botany (2014-17) from Gargi College, University of Delhi.
