Interested in volunteering?

If you plan on participating in field-trips, classroom events, or wish to assist with any of the classroom activities, you will need to register as a volunteer. Don't wait until the day you plan to help - applications can take up to 4 days to be approved.

Anyone wishing to volunteer can do so, one application needs to be submitted per volunteer - not per student. You can apply to volunteer at multiple schools if needed.

We recommend applying for Level 1 activities only at the start of the school year as Level 2 applications require fingerprinting and approval from the school principal.

Completing the Volunteer Application

Begin by launching the Raptor portal

Review the instructions - Detailed descriptions of each of the volunteer activities.
Enter your information - Complete the form with your personal information. Make sure to enter the same information as it appears on your government-issued ID.
Choose the school - You can select more than one school (if you wish). Otherwise, search for South Miami Middle and click the checkbox next to the listing.
Select your volunteer function - We recommend selecting at least the Day Chaperone function. You can select as many Level 1 functions as you wish.
(Selecting a function is not a guarantee that you will be asked to volunteer within that scope, you are also not required to volunteer in all the functions you select).
* IF YOU SELECT A LEVEL 2 FUNCTION - you will be asked to provide additional documents.
Select your organization - if applicable. Otherwise, select no.

Confirmation - You will receive an email confirming your application, you will also receive a confirmation once your application is approved in 1-4 business days.
