the nameless being
as you might assume, the nameless being has no name. well, that's true.
the being cannot speak, only think and feel.
the being was born from crimson and ash, pleasantly gazing at a sky that brims with possibilities. it was welcomed by love, yet upon exploration of a certain ghost's home, it was tainted. a nameless and wonderful being was corrupted by those who believed that feelings were nonexistent. feelings did not matter, therefore you could not express it. all you had to do was work.
work hard, live well. by that principle, you shall continue to uphold the prosperity of the void.
over time, the being has come to realize that this prosperity is merely an illusion. or perhaps it is not? i cannot give you a clear answer.
but what i can tell you is that it has become aware of the truth. it has become enlightened when so many others have not.
it has returned home through a series of events.
the being born of crimson and ash can feel once more.
the cold ghost / res novas
if ghost asked for a grade, i'd give them an F because they failed in its duties to protect their people from danger.
the only problem is, if i wasn't so kind, and ghost wasn't so persistent, that grade might've already been set in stone.
let me be clear: our cold ghost has been through too much.
they were once a member of the void. they, too, were once a witness to the corruption, to those craving chaos and confusion. however, ghost was born before the corruption started. their body may have faded, but their spirit remembers the struggle.
the first thing ghost remembers is peace. the last thing ghost remembers is chaos.
ghost always strived for peace since day one of their fight. ghost was a warrior.
there must be someone who is willing to revive a long dead fight. though ghost claims that everyone has forgotten its name, ghost might be telling a lie.
they just don't know that.

nadir / the depths
a corrupted child's only dream is to break free from that corruption. a follower of res novas, and perhaps the sole person left to carry on its legacy, nadir is one full of many enigmas. nadir has lived for hundreds of years, and has always kept the story of its friend in its heart and in its head. nadir's name means "the depths". and for nadir, they believe that fresh blood brings new birth. just as res novas fought for new things, just as res novas fought for peace - nadir thrives on the very same ideals.
nadir fought with res novas in both of their battles, and they were one of the original members.
nadir never forgot their friend, and at the end of the day, they will never forget its legacy.
the people have forgotten. but nadir will ensure that they will never forget.
they will keep fighting until they meet their end.
"the depths" will surely rise.

the ruler / monolith
the guiding light of all corrupted souls of the void is monolith, or "the ruler", as they are rightfully called. monolith holds everything together. they are the backbone of the void. but monolith is actually not the true backbone of the void, as you originally believed.
now, i say monolith holds everything together, however monolith takes on no true form. monolith is a living being in their own right, but monolith is formless.
how can one keep everyone else in line yet still have no definite body?
another thing: is the ruler truly as strong as they claim to be?
if your answer is yes, then let me ask you this: how can it rule for hundreds of years, start a war, but never attack itself? of course, a ruler needs to show some kind of martial prowess to truly be a ruler. but, it has never once proved its worth.
it has proved to be the disruptor. but never the peacemaker.

ocula / girl with the eye
the girl with the eye is a stoic, emotionless figure. she is one who does not quit until something is complete. she may be young and one of the newer members of the civilization of the void, but she is always on her toes about every little thing. in this way, not one thing for her is left undone. she will ensure that all her tasks are complete and done to the fullest, leaving nothing out of place. ah, that is, her tasks at least. she does not care one bit to perform tasks the ruler assigns to members of the void. such a rebellious and unruly child.
however, there is one thing you must understand about her: you may notice that she wears a hood. the only thing visible is her blank stare, and curly hair peeking out at the top of her head.
she wears this all the time, in order to conceal some mysterious power found within that no one should know about.
in addition, there is an eye on top of her hood. she does not mind hiding this, yet her true motives for having this eye are unknown. some in the void believe that this is ocula's third eye.
ocula ignores the remarks. only she knows its true purpose: to purge evil.
the eye is closed for now. when it opens is another story.
she's only waiting for that time to come.

serenus / the silent child
another young hooded child, is that the theme now? no. serenus and ocula are friends, it's understandable that you would assume that the two of them like to match and wear hoods. but again, incorrect rationale.
serenus is not orginally from the void. like the nameless being, he was born in the land under the crimson sky, brought forth from the ashen ground.
serenus found the void through his own willingness to explore, unlike being who had a traveling partner. serenus is one with a big heart and strong yet stubborn spirit, so he believed it was only right for him to come to terms with the corruption and attempt to restore it to some sort of peace. since then, serenus has been doing his duties. silent, yet determined.
since he never speaks, serenus has been called "the silent child". serenus pays no mind. no one above the void will ever speak; that is a fact. once he befriended ocula, however, he can speak in ways that do not involve words. through her guidance, serenus has become stronger and more defiant. he knows that he will not rest until his job is done.
it seems that being has another contender. or, rather, had a contender. since being has already escaped to freedom, serenus might need to follow in its footsteps to get himself in being's current location.
he must speak his truth. but it is extremely difficult for him to figure out when. he needs more support.
he needs a war.

cae / celestial hiding
now just what secrets could this young man who hides his face...be hiding?
if you asked him, he would say, "nothing." after that, he would take no more questions.
cae is not a talkative person. he is an observer, and a protector, seeking to care for others in the shadows rather than fighting on the frontlines. because of this, he is rarely seen.
but, when he is seen, far too many beings swoon, earning him the nickname "celestial hiding". but cae's goal in this world is not to win hearts. it is to protect a young girl by the name of ocula.
the first time ocula and cae met, cae was just a young boy, merely five years old. ocula was a newborn, timid and meek. she was afraid of this world, yet she was too young to understand why. cae did not know much either, but his knowledge at the time was enough for him to realize that she needed help. so he played with her, held her close to him, and gave her the love she desperately needed.
cae treated her like a sister.
but, one day, cae left her.
and the child felt betrayed. so the only thing ocula thought to do was to explore this cruel world alone, with no fear.
this was when the darkness consumed her body.
strangely, she wasn't corrupted. the darkness signified some kind of purity. the darkness represented some kind of...otherworldly power.
when cae returns, he will be met with a dangerous child. and he will have nowhere left to hide.
