About me

Hello,  My name is Kelley Layton.  I am a lifelong reader and fan of all books.  I have worked coaching children for the past 20 years but during Covid I returned to school to receive my teaching degree. I then completed a Masters in Instruction and Curriculum.  As soon as I started teaching 4th grade I realized all the things I wish I had known when my three (now grown daughters) were younger.  Reading is not about how fast or how many books you get through it is about comprehension and remembering what you read.  This is an area students are very behind in.  Beside students I know many adults who  do not feel confident in their reading comprehension skills.  So I started this website, blog and social media accounts to support reading comprehension, share tips on reading strategies and build a love of books, stories,  and all who want to be lifelong learners. So let's read and continue to grow our mind.
