AQUATIC AEROBICS/EXERCISE - a low-impact functional movement class is performed in shallow water and is designed to improve joint stability, coordination/balance, heart health, and strength. The class will incorporate cardio and strength using the resistance of the water.

It combines Tai Chi and Qi Gong concepts of positioning and controlled motion, carried out while standing in shoulder-deep warm water.
Aqua Yoga is practicing yoga in the water. The water allows for bouyancy and support while toning muscles for balance. Aqua Yoga also includes the relaxing element of water.
This class can increase oxygen consumption, relax tension, relieve stress, and improve mobility, strength and balance.

AQUATIC REHABILITATION OPTIONS :
Watsu , short for "water shiatsu," is a form of aquatic bodywork that combines gentle stretching, massage, and shiatsu techniques in warm, chest-deep water, promoting relaxation and addressing physical and mental issues. It is a passive hydrotherapy technique where a practitioner gently moves, stretches, and massages a client in warm water, leveraging the water's buoyancy to facilitate movement and relaxation.
The warm water and gentle movements help to soothe physical tension, encourage relaxation, and support overall health. Watsu can be beneficial for various conditions, including chronic ailments, surgery recovery, reduced swelling, improved immune response, reduced stress, deeper sleep, and emotional release. [This method gets fairly up close and personal and we currently only have female practitioners trained in Watsu so it is only available for female clients at this time.]
AquaStretch is a one-on-one, assisted stretching and myofascial release technique performed in shallow water using weighted resistance, designed to restore flexibility, reduce pain, and improve overall well-being. It is a form of aquatic therapy that combines manual therapy with patient-initiated, active, pain-free range of motion in the water.
It involves stretching in shallow water, where the water's buoyancy allows for easier movement and access to deeper stretches. Weighted resistance is used to apply a deeper stretch to the fascia (the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs). A facilitator guides the patient through a series of stretches, encouraging movement and addressing areas of restriction or pain.
Benefits: Restoring flexibility and range of motion; Managing chronic pain and injuries; Improving sports performance and reducing recovery time; Reducing muscle soreness and tension; Promoting relaxation and improving sleep.
