How to get to Czestochowa

Częstochowa is located by international route E75 (motorway A1). There is no airport in the vicinity, but Częstochowa has railway connections with major Polish cities. Undoubtedly, the focal point of this Silesian city is the Pauline Monastery at Jasna Góra, which is the fourth, after Rome, Lourdes and Fatima, the most visited pilgrimage site in the world.


The distance from Częstochowa to Warsaw is about 220 km, to Wrocław about 210 km, to Kraków about 140 km and about 80 km to Katowice.

  1. The closest airport, Katowice Pyrzowice, is located 60 km from the town. From this airport, you can get to Częstochowa by taxi cab [about 250 PLN]. Alternatively, you can get a bus from the airport to the train station in Katowice [15-25 PLN] and the trip takes about one hour. In the Train station, you should take a train to Czestochowa [about 25 PLN].

Rent a car is also a possibility.

  1. If you arrive at Warsaw Chopin Airport [https://www.lotnisko-chopina.pl/en/index.html], there are train connections that will take you to Dworzec Centralny (Central Station). From this place, you can take a train to Częstochowa [https://www.intercity.pl/en/]. The train trip from Warszawa takes about two hours.

  2. From Kraków Airport you should take a bus or train to “Dworzec Głowny (Main Station)” and from them take a train to Czestochowa. The trip will take about one hour and half.

  3. Wrocław Airport - The bus line 106 runs from / to the Main Railway Station and the Central Bus Station every 15 minutes, and the entire route takes about 40-50 minutes (depending on traffic in the city). From the Main Railway Station, you can travel to Częstochowa by train or FlixBus
