Do you take all dogs?

SOLO specialises in caring for small dogs. Every booking begins with a complimentary Meet & Greet to ensure we're the right fit for one another and that your dog will be happy and comfortable in my home.

How many dogs do you care for at one time?

Just one guest dog at a time.

This allows me to provide your dog with my full attention in a calm, home environment, without the stress of large groups or multiple unfamiliar dogs.

Where will my dog sleep?

Your dog will sleep indoors in my home normally in my large living area. I'll discuss their normal sleeping routine with you during the Meet & Greet and do my best to maintain the routine they're familiar with.

Will my dog be left alone?

I spend the stay at home with my guest dog and do not routinely leave them alone. Any individual needs or concerns around separation will be discussed during the Meet & Greet.

Will my dog be walked off lead?

No.

For the safety and security of every guest dog, all walks are on lead at all times.

Where do you walk the dogs?

Most walks take place around Acton Park and other suitable local green spaces. Walks are tailored to your dog's age, health and energy levels.

Will my dog meet other dogs?

Your dog will meet my friendly resident dog, Pep, during the Meet & Greet. As I only care for one guest dog at a time, there are no large groups of unfamiliar dogs.

Can I meet you before booking?

Absolutely.

Every booking begins with a complimentary Meet & Greet. This gives us an opportunity to get to know one another, answer any questions and ensure SOLO is the right environment for your dog.

How to Book?

I always meet every small dog before accepting a booking. Please click here to choose a convenient time for a complimentary meet and greet with me and Pep, or WhatsApp me on 07944 035776.

What should I bring?

Please bring everything your dog needs to feel comfortable, including:

• Food for their stay

• Lead and harness or collar

• Bed or blanket (if they have one)

• Favourite toys

• Any medication with clear instructions

• Emergency contact details

• Your vet's details

Will I receive updates?

Yes.

I'll send regular photos and videos throughout your dog's stay, so you can relax knowing they're happy, settled and enjoying themselves.

Are you DBS checked?

Yes.

I hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate with Adult Barred List checks, obtained through my NHS First Responder role. Trust and safety are very important to me, and I understand the responsibility involved in caring for someone else's much-loved companion.

What happens if my dog becomes unwell?

If your dog becomes unwell or has an accident during their stay, I will contact you immediately using the emergency contact details you have provided. If veterinary treatment is required, I will follow the full emergency protocol instructions we agree during your Meet & Greet.

Do you administer medication?

Yes, provided I have clear written instructions and your dog is happy to receive their medication. Please discuss any medical requirements with me before booking.

Do you accept puppies?

No I do not accept puppies. Sorry. 

What are your drop-off and collection times?

Drop-off is before 12 noon, giving your dog plenty of time to settle into their new surroundings. Collection is also by 12 noon on the final day.

How do I make a booking?

Simply get in touch to arrange a complimentary Meet & Greet. Once we've met and you're happy to go ahead, I'll confirm your booking and provide everything you need before your dog's stay.

Why did you create SOLO?

I created SOLO because I wanted to offer something different from traditional boarding. Rather than caring for several dogs at once, I provide a calm, home-based environment where your dog will always be my only guest. This means they receive individual attention, a consistent routine and a peaceful place to relax while you're away. Having owned and cared for dogs throughout my life, I understand that every dog has its own personality, routine and preferences. I provide thoughtful, consistent care, treating every guest with the same love, patience and respect I give my own dog, Pep.
