Soledger ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is a finance and bookkeeping application for self-employed people and freelancers, published by TechTenStein Services Pvt Ltd, a company registered in India. The App helps you track mileage, capture receipts, record income and expenses, manage clients and invoices, and estimate taxes. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and its third-party components handle, how that information is used, and the choices you have. The App is local-first: there are no user accounts and no sign-in, and the financial records you enter are stored on your device and are not sent to us or synced to any cloud.
By installing or using the App you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The App is designed to keep your financial data on your device. The categories below describe what the App handles, including the limited diagnostic and usage data sent off-device by the third-party services listed in Section 3.
You may enter income and expense entries, expense categories, client and contact details, mileage and trip records, vehicle details, receipt photos, invoices and their line items, payment status, tax settings, and tax estimates. This information is stored only in a local database on your device. It is never uploaded to a Soledger server, never used for advertising, and never sold. There is no account to create and no sign-in, so we do not collect your name, email address, or other identity details for an account.
The App uses the third-party services listed in Section 3 to collect a limited amount of diagnostic, usage, and advertising data: crash reports together with device model, operating-system version, and app version; non-identifying app-usage events such as which screens are opened; an app-instance identifier used by analytics and remote configuration; and, because the App is ad-supported, your device's advertising identifier and limited ad-related technical data used to select and measure ads (see Section 3.3). This diagnostic, analytics, and advertising data never includes your income, expenses, client records, mileage, invoices, receipt images, or tax figures.
Reminders, such as tax-deadline alerts and other in-app reminders, are delivered entirely on your device using the operating system's local notification system. These reminders are scheduled locally and do not require an internet connection or any account. Reminder content stays on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. The App does not use cloud push notifications.
The App integrates the third-party components below. Each operates under its own privacy policy, linked where available. We include only the services actually present in this version of the App.
We use Google Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting (which sends crash reports along with device and diagnostic information), Google Analytics for Firebase for non-identifying app-usage analytics (which sends app-usage events and an app-instance identifier), and Google Firebase Remote Config to fetch configuration values (which sends an app-instance identifier). These services receive only diagnostic, device, and non-identifying-usage data, never your financial records. Soledger offers optional Premium upgrades: an auto-renewing monthly subscription, an auto-renewing annual subscription, and a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases are handled by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google) using their own in-app purchase systems. Billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are managed by Apple or Google, not by Soledger. Payment details are processed by the platform, not by Soledger; we receive only your purchase or subscription status so the App can unlock paid features. The App is supported by ads served through Google AdMob, together with AdMob mediation partners that may include AppLovin, Unity Ads, and Meta Audience Network. To select, show, and measure ads, these services may access your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID) and limited technical data such as device type, coarse location derived from your IP address, and ad-interaction events. Ads are never shown on sensitive screens such as tax-estimate, receipt, or invoice screens, and your financial records — income, expenses, clients, mileage, invoices, receipts, and tax figures — are never used for advertising and are never shared with any ad network. Where required (for example, in the EEA and UK), the App presents a consent request through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before serving personalised ads, and you can reset or limit your Advertising ID at any time in your device settings. The App requests the following permissions, each only for the stated purpose:
Location. Used to record mileage and trip distance. Location is used only while you are actively using the App (while-in-use) — on Android via a foreground service while you track a trip, and on iOS while the App is in the foreground. Trip and mileage data derived from location is stored on your device. The App does not track your location in the background.
Camera and Photos. Used to capture a photo of a receipt or select an existing image. Receipt images are stored locally on your device.
Notifications. Used to deliver local reminders such as tax-deadline alerts, as described in Section 2.
Biometric (Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint). Used only for the on-device app lock so you can protect access to the App. Biometric data is handled by your operating system and is never read or stored by Soledger.
We use the information described above only to: record and organize your income, expenses, clients, mileage, receipts, and invoices; calculate tax estimates and summaries on your device; deliver local reminders; secure the App with the optional biometric lock; unlock paid features based on your subscription status; and diagnose crashes and understand non-identifying usage to improve stability. We never use your financial information for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your financial information with advertisers or data brokers. Your financial records stay on your device. Diagnostic and non-identifying-usage data is processed by Google as our service provider under the terms in Section 3.1. Purchase status is handled by Apple or Google under the terms in Section 3.2. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Your data is retained until you delete it. Because the App is local-first, you remain in control of removing it at any time.
The App lets you clear all of your data on the device. Doing so deletes the on-device database (income, expenses, clients, mileage, invoices, and tax settings), removes stored receipt images, and returns the App to a fresh state. Because all of your data is stored on your device, uninstalling the App also removes it. There is no cloud account to delete, because Soledger does not create one. You are responsible for keeping your own backups; the App provides an on-device encrypted export for this purpose.
Diagnostic and non-identifying-usage data already collected by the Google services in Section 3.1 is retained per Google's own retention policies and is not linked to your financial records.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because your financial data lives on your device, you can access, correct, and delete it directly within the App, without contacting us. You may also contact us using the details in Section 13.
The App is intended for adults managing their own self-employment finances and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will address it.
TechTenStein Services Pvt Ltd is based in India, and the App is available internationally. Your financial records stay on your device and do not cross borders. The limited diagnostic and non-identifying-usage data described in Section 3.1 is processed by Google on Firebase infrastructure, which may be located in the United States and other countries, and purchase processing is handled by Apple or Google. We rely on the safeguards offered by these providers for those transfers.
On-device data is stored using the operating system's protected app storage, and you can enable an on-device biometric app lock to restrict access. Diagnostic data sent to Google is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but we apply industry-standard measures appropriate to a local-first finance utility. The App is a bookkeeping and organizing tool that provides estimates and organizational features only; it does not provide professional tax, accounting, legal, or financial advice. Tax estimates are informational, and you are responsible for the accuracy of your records and your actual tax filings.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, the law, or our practices. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy. The current version is always available at the public URL the App links to from Settings.
