Our Story

Hi! My name is Izzy O'Malley I'm the creator of Solaris, an app designed to make sun protection simple, accessible, and easy to understand.

I created Solaris because, as an Asian American, I’ve experienced extreme sun sensitivity firsthand. I wanted to create an easy way for myself and my friends to better protect our skin. What started as a simple idea for the people around me quickly grew into something bigger. I realized I wanted to make sun safety more accessible by helping people understand UV protection and build better sunscreen habits. Sun safety can sometimes feel confusing or easy to forget, so I created Solaris to bring helpful information, guidance, and reminders together in one place.

Through Solaris, my goal is to help people understand the importance of protecting their skin while making sun-safe habits a normal part of everyday life. I hope Solaris can encourage people to spend time outside while also taking simple steps to protect themselves from harmful UV exposure.
