Helping homeowners throughout Sonoma, Marin, and Napa counties make informed decisions about solar energy, battery storage, and backup power.
Hello! I'm Brian Dixon, your local Solar-Bri energy consultant.
Whether you're exploring solar panels for the first time, considering adding battery storage to an existing solar system, or looking for reliable backup power during PG&E outages, my goal is to help you understand your options and find the solution that makes sense for your home.
I believe that making an important energy decision should be based on good information, honest answers, and an understanding of your needs — not sales pressure.
I've been working in the solar industry since 2021, beginning with Sunrun, one of the country's largest residential solar companies. I later joined Nor Cal Solar, a smaller solar company based in Petaluma, before connecting with Vital Energy in Sebastopol.
Working with both large and small solar companies has given me an appreciation for different approaches to solar design, customer service, and installation.
Today, through my work with Vital Energy, I help North Bay homeowners explore residential solar panels, home battery storage, and backup power solutions.
Every home is different. Some homeowners want to reduce their PG&E electricity bills. Others are more concerned about power outages or want to get more value from solar panels they already own.
My job is to listen, explain the choices, and help you make a decision you feel good about.
Vital Energy is a family-owned solar, battery storage, and generator installation company based in Sebastopol, California, with more than 20 years of experience serving the North Bay and surrounding communities.
The company has earned recognition for its work, including:
SFGATE Best of the Bay — Solar Installer: 2024, 2025, and 2026
North Bay Bohemian — Best Solar Installer in Sonoma County: 2026
Beyond these recognitions, what I particularly value is Vital Energy's commitment to the customer, from designing and installing a system to providing ongoing service and support.
With experienced in-house installation teams, a dedicated service department, and a 25-year workmanship warranty, Vital brings more than just equipment to the table.
For homeowners making a long-term investment, who installs and supports your system can be just as important as the panels and batteries themselves.
Before entering the solar industry, I spent more than 30 years in the mortgage business, helping homeowners throughout the North Bay with important financial decisions.
My career included Regency Financial Group, Novato Mortgage, and First Security Loan. During my final 10 years in the mortgage industry, I specialized in reverse mortgages, helping homeowners age 62 and older explore options for their financial needs. My work included several lenders, most recently Mutual of Omaha Reverse.
While mortgages and solar energy may seem very different, I see an important connection.
Both involve major decisions about your home, your finances, and your future.
That experience taught me the importance of listening, explaining complicated subjects in understandable language, and helping people evaluate both the immediate price and long-term cost of their decisions.
It's the same approach I bring to solar and battery storage today.
I grew up in Novato and have lived in the Petaluma and Rohnert Park area since 1993. The North Bay isn't simply where I work — it's my community.
I've coached junior racquetball players since 1998, beginning at Petaluma Valley Athletic Club and continuing today at the Callinan Sports Center in Rohnert Park. I've also served as Junior Director for the California/Nevada Racquetball Association since 2004.
Giving back to the community has always been important to me.
From 2003 to 2013, I served on the Board of Directors of COTS (Committee on the Shelterless), including serving as Board President from 2005 to 2008. Through that experience, I had the opportunity to support programs helping individuals and families work toward housing stability and greater independence.
Whether I'm helping a young athlete develop confidence, supporting community programs, or helping a homeowner better understand solar energy, the goal is much the same:
Making a Difference Every Day.
Thinking about installing solar panels? Interested in adding a home battery to your existing system? Wondering how to protect your home during the next PG&E power outage?
I'd welcome the opportunity to answer your questions and help you explore the possibilities.
I work with homeowners throughout Sonoma, Marin, and Napa counties, including Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Windsor, Novato, San Rafael, Mill Valley, Napa, and surrounding North Bay communities.
