My current book project entitled, Empowering the State: Unveiling Cambodia's Policy Impact on Governance - seeks to expand the study on the rise of authoritarianism in Southeast Asia by examining the Cambodian ruler's strategic policy choices to respond to its population needs and its regime politics. My research also investigates how China’s rising influence in the region impacted the Cambodian government’s policy choice.
