Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. [27] For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise. (Galatians 3:25-29)
Accordingly, Sojourner Magazine is not contained to one location. Yes, we have our headquarters, but we find our place to be wherever there is work to be done, wherever Christ is preached faithfully, and wherever the story takes us.
So, in an effort to act upon that belief - we are now launching Sojourner Outpost(s).
Sojourner Outpost(s) are effectively landing points from which to engage with the ongoing mission of Sojourner Magazine within a given geographic area. The Outpost is not a physical location, it is anywhere Sojourner affiliates gather together to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their communities and train for godliness.
Each Outpost will host different events, training opportunities, and highlight missions opportunities from the Ops Desk that you may take part in. Wherever there is an Outpost, you will have access to copies of Sojourner Magazine, Sojourner Magazine / Boxing Club stickers, and other resources to aid you along the way.
Here's an example of things to expect from a Sojourner Outpost: From your local Outpost, you will be able to join members of the Sojourner Boxing Club for a 5k run that helps raise money for a local Church's missions efforts. When we release copies of the print edition of Sojourner Magazine, you will be able to get copies before anyone else. In each area, there is a local Church that you can be a part of and serve alongside - for His glory and for the good of His people. Simply, the Outpost will host present events that are unique to that particular region.
Every Outpost is different in the sense that the opportunities for service differ by community, but the mission is the same: mobilize people to honor God with their lives and take the good news of what God has done to their neighbors.
Currently, there are three outposts in operation:
