I have never been afraid of change and have jumped in where angels fear to tread many times. By a mixture of good management, dumb luck, and positive attitude, I am still here, prospering in a paradise most people yearn for but never make the leap of faith in themself to have a go at making a reality in their own lives.
God's Word For Isaan—True-life Accounts From Northeast Thailand
In my spare time, I've been writing down true-life accounts of our personal experiences, things related to us, or things we saw God do while ministering in Northeast Thailand. These include: salvation testimonies; God's miraculous providence and protection; human interest stories; sad or happy accounts; etc. You can read these from you computer screen, or print them out. I believe you'll be blessed from these accounts from one missionary's true-life experiences. My plans are to compile these into an anthology of true-life missionary accounts for publication. However, I'm still considering various book titles, of which I have tentatively decided on:
"เสมอ" (Samer) performed by พงษ์สิทธิ์ คำภีร์ (Pongsit Kampee), is one of the most iconic love ballads in the history of Thai folk rock music. Known for his deeply emotional lyrics and soulful delivery, Pongsit Kampee is a legendary figure in Thailand’s phleng phuea chiwit (songs for life) genre, blending heartfelt storytelling with socially conscious themes.
The song revolves around a man’s unchanging devotion to the person he loves, regardless of time or circumstance. Since its release, it has become a beloved anthem for those seeking comfort in love and stability in relationships.

Ajahn Chah (1918–1992) was a highly respected Thai Buddhist monk and a key figure in the Thai Forest Tradition. Born in Ubon Ratchathani province, he became a monk at a young age and, after initial training, left conventional temple life to pursue deep meditation in the forests of Thailand. He studied under renowned masters, including Ajahn Mun Bhuridatta, and embraced a strict, disciplined path focused on mindfulness, simplicity, and inner peace.
Ajahn Sumedho, born in 1934 in Seattle, Washington, is a prominent American-born Theravāda Buddhist monk and one of the most influential Western disciples of Ajahn Chah. After serving in the U.S. Navy and studying Asian philosophy, he traveled to Thailand in the 1960s, where he was ordained as a monk in the Thai Forest Tradition. In 1967, he met Ajahn Chah, whose direct and mindful approach to practice had a profound impact on him.
Ajahn Sumedho trained closely with Ajahn Chah for nearly a decade at Wat Nong Pah Pong and became the first abbot of Wat Pah Nanachat, the international forest monastery established for English-speaking monks. In 1977, at Ajahn Chah’s request, he returned to the West to help establish the Thai Forest Tradition in Europe.
