SoftX PDF – Privacy Policy

SoftX PDF ("we", "our", or "the App") is a PDF utility application developed to provide simple, private, and powerful PDF tools.

This Privacy Policy explains how SoftX PDF handles information when you use the application.

3. How Your Files Are Processed

SoftX PDF performs its core PDF operations directly on your device.

Merge PDF
 Selected PDF files are read locally and combined into a new PDF on your device.

Split PDF
 Selected pages are extracted locally and saved as new PDF files on your device.

Compress PDF
 Where applicable, images inside the PDF are processed and re-encoded locally to reduce the resulting file size.

The original source PDF is not intentionally overwritten by these operations.

4. Internet and Network Access

SoftX PDF does not require internet access for its core PDF functionality.

The application does not upload your documents to a remote server for merging, splitting, or compression.

The current application build does not declare the Android INTERNET permission.

5. Storage Permissions

SoftX PDF is designed to use Android's system file-selection and document-storage mechanisms rather than requesting broad access to your device storage.

The current application build does not declare broad storage permissions.

When you choose a file or save an output file, Android's system interface allows you to select the relevant document or destination.

6. Recent Files

SoftX PDF includes a Recent Files feature that can be enabled by the user.

Recent Files is off by default.

If you enable this feature, the application may maintain information necessary to display your recently processed or selected files within the app.

This information is intended to remain on your device and is not uploaded to SoftX PDF servers.

You can disable the Recent Files feature through the application's settings.

7. Backups

SoftX PDF is designed so that information associated with the Recent Files feature is not unintentionally included in cloud backup.

The application does not use a SoftX server to back up your PDF files or recent-file information.

Your PDF documents remain under your control on your device and in the storage location you choose.

8. Third-Party Services and Libraries

SoftX PDF uses third-party open-source software libraries where necessary to provide PDF functionality.

The current application uses PDFBox-Android 2.0.27.0, distributed under the Apache License 2.0, for PDF processing.

The application also uses Android's platform PDF rendering capabilities for displaying PDF page previews.

These libraries are used to provide application functionality and do not mean that your PDF documents are automatically sent to third parties.

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We do not share your PDF documents or their contents with third parties for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

Because PDF processing is performed locally, your documents are not routinely transmitted to SoftX PDF servers.

10. Advertising

The current version of SoftX PDF does not require advertising-related access to your PDF documents.

If advertising or third-party advertising services are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated where required before or when such functionality is introduced.

11. Analytics and Tracking

SoftX PDF is designed to minimize data collection.

The current application does not use your PDF contents for analytics, profiling, or behavioral analysis.

If analytics or other data-collection services are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated to accurately describe what information is collected and how it is used.

SoftX PDF is not designed to collect personal information from children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the application.

13. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the privacy of information handled by the application.

Because PDF processing is performed locally on your device, your documents do not need to be transmitted to a remote server for the core functions of the application.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security of your device, including device access controls and storage security.
