Soft Material Robot Challenge

We would like to cordially invite you to participate in the Soft Material Robot Challenge, IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 2018 that will be held from May 21 to May 22, 2018 at Convention&Exhibition Center Brisbane. This challenge provides an international platform to showcase soft robotics research and aims to promote state of the art developments in soft robots, and to encourage development of soft robots with on-field applicability. The challenge includes two categories, 1) soft component technologies challenge and 2) soft robot gripping competition.

For Soft Component Technology Challenge, the submission should include text, pictures, and/or videos that describe the design (including motivation, objectives and the significance of the project to the field of soft robotics), modeling (if appropriate), fabrication, and testing. The shortlisted entries will be required to demonstrate their prototype at the competition venue in ICRA 2018.

For Soft Robot Gripping Competition, prospective teams are invited to submit a short write-up of less than 2 pages. The write up shall include a short description of the robot design and the actuators employed. The shortlisted soft robots will be required to compete the gripping tasks on the designed objects at the competition venue in ICRA 2018.
