Word Edit – Docx Document Editor is engineered with a strict privacy-by-design architecture. The app functions entirely locally on your Android device. We do not operate remote servers for document processing, storage, or telemetry.
We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal information or document content to SoftCoderX or any third party.
Word Edit does not collect personal data or usage metrics. Below is an overview of how data is handled on your device:
Data Type
Storage Location
Purpose
Documents (.docx, .doc, .txt)
Local Device Storage / User-Selected Folder
Opened, created, and edited strictly locally on your phone.
Auto-Save Recovery Drafts
App-Private Local Storage
Prevents work loss during unexpected app closing or phone restarts.
Recent Files History
Local Android DataStore
Maintains local file shortcuts for quick access within the app.
App Preferences
Local Android DataStore
Saves user settings (e.g., default font size, autosave state, sort order).
Word Edit prioritizes Android's privacy guidelines by eliminating unnecessary permissions:
No Network/Internet Permission: Word Edit does not request or possess the android.permission.INTERNET permission. It is technically impossible for the application to send your files or data over the Internet.
Storage Access Framework (SAF): Word Edit utilizes Android's standard System File Picker. Access to files and folders is granted strictly on an explicit, per-file or per-folder basis as selected by you. The app does not demand broad device storage permissions.
No Sensitive Permissions: The app does not request access to your Location, Camera, Contacts, Microphone, SMS, Call Logs, or Device Identifiers.
When editing documents in Word Edit:
All document parsing, formatting, rendering, and saving (including DOCX and TXT encoding) are performed on-device.
If auto-save is enabled, temporary recovery drafts are written to app-private internal storage. These drafts exist solely to restore your work in case of accidental interruption.
When you save your document, changes are saved directly to your chosen file location. Discarding changes removes the local recovery draft.
Word Edit is a clean, ad-free productivity tool:
No Advertisements: We do not include any advertising frameworks (e.g., AdMob, Unity Ads, AppLovin).
No Analytics or Tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or any user profiling SDKs.
No Crash Telemetry: Crash reporting frameworks are omitted. We do not automatically collect error logs from your device.
Word Edit does not share your data. The only file sharing occurs when explicitly initiated by you:
Android Share Sheet: If you tap the "Share" button on a document, Word Edit generates a temporary private cache URI via Android's FileProvider and hands it to the recipient application you choose (e.g., your email client, messaging app, or cloud storage app).
External Storage Providers: If you select a document located in a third-party cloud provider (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox) via Android's file picker, that provider manages synchronization under its own privacy policy.
If you contact SoftCoderX for customer support via email at support@softcoderx.com:
We will receive your email address, message body, and any attachments you voluntarily send.
This information is strictly used to address your support inquiry and maintain support records.
We never sell, rent, or share customer support emails for marketing purposes.
Please note that because your files remain on your phone, SoftCoderX cannot remotely access or recover lost files from your device.
Because all app data is stored locally on your device:
Document Deletion: You can delete your documents at any time using Word Edit or your phone's File Manager.
Clearing History: You can clear your recent file history inside the app's Settings menu.
App Uninstall / Data Clear: Uninstalling Word Edit or clearing app data via Android Settings will delete app-private files, settings preferences, and recovery drafts. Files stored in standard device folders (e.g., Documents or Downloads) remain intact on your phone.
Word Edit is a general-audience productivity application. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The application is completely safe for users of all ages.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app improvements or legal updates. The latest version will always be accessible within the app's Settings menu and on our official web listing.
