SoftCoderX ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Video Editor Plus AI PRO mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
Summary: The App is designed to edit media that you select. Your selected media is handled locally on your device for editing and export. If you choose to use an optional bring-your-own-key (BYOK) AI provider, your prompt and limited project metadata are sent directly to the provider you select. We do not sell your personal information.
Depending on the features you use, the App may handle the following information:
Media you select: video files and related technical metadata, such as file name, duration, dimensions, and format. The App accesses only media that you choose through Android's system document or media picker.
Editing project data: project names, clip order, trim ranges, captions, filters, audio settings, and other edits you make.
AI prompts and edit plans: prompts you enter, selected AI provider information, and AI-generated editing plans and chat history associated with a project.
API credentials: if you configure an optional OpenAI or Google Gemini API key, the App stores the key locally using Android Keystore-backed encryption.
Export information: export settings, export progress, output file location, and error information needed to complete or troubleshoot an export.
The App uses this information only to provide its editing features, including to:
import, organize, preview, edit, and export the media you select;
save your projects and editing changes on your device;
show export progress and completion notifications if you allow notifications;
create and validate AI-assisted editing plans when you choose to use an AI provider; and
respond to support requests you send to us.
The App uses Android's system picker to let you choose specific media files. It does not request unrestricted access to your entire photo library or file storage for normal editing use.
Project data, edit settings, and chat history are stored locally in the App's local database on your device. Selected media remains at its original location unless you export a new edited file. Exported videos are saved to your device through Android's MediaStore system.
AI-assisted editing is optional. Before sending an AI request, the App asks you to acknowledge the data-sharing disclosure.
If you enable an AI provider, the App sends your typed prompt and limited project metadata directly to the provider you select using your own API key. This metadata may include clip names, internal clip identifiers, and timing ranges. The App is designed not to send the video bytes of your selected media as part of an AI edit-planning request.
Your use of an AI provider is also subject to that provider's own privacy policy, terms, billing practices, and data-handling practices. Please review the provider's terms before using optional AI features. SoftCoderX does not control third-party provider processing.
Notifications: on supported Android versions, the App may ask for notification permission to show export progress and completion updates. You may decline this permission; exports can still run, but notification updates may not be displayed.
Internet: internet access is used only for optional AI provider requests and related network communication you initiate.
Foreground service: the App may use a foreground service while a long-running export is in progress so Android can manage the export reliably.
The current App version does not request camera permission and does not request broad storage-management permission.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share your selected media or project information with SoftCoderX servers for routine editing.
Information may be shared only in the following circumstances:
with an AI provider you explicitly select and authorize through the optional BYOK feature;
when you choose to share an exported video using Android's system sharing tools; or
when required by applicable law or a valid legal process.
Your projects, edit data, AI chat history, and encrypted API credentials remain on your device until you delete them, clear App storage, or uninstall the App. You can remove selected project content from within the App and may revoke document access through Android system settings where available.
If you use a third-party AI provider, that provider's retention practices apply to the information sent to it. Please consult the provider's privacy policy for deletion and retention options.
We use reasonable technical measures designed to protect information handled by the App, including local storage and Android Keystore-backed encryption for configured API credentials. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can address the request.
You may choose which media files to import.
You may decline notification permission.
You may use the App without configuring an AI provider.
You may delete projects, clear App data, uninstall the App, or revoke permissions through Android settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, legal requirements, or our practices. We will post the updated policy on our website or another publicly accessible location and update the effective date.
