NoteAI – AI Notes & Assistant
Developed by SoftCoderX
Effective date: August 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NoteAI – AI Notes & Assistant ("NoteAI", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Android application.
Summary: NoteAI is designed as a local-first note-taking app. Your notes are stored on your device. If you choose to use AI features, the text you submit is sent to the AI provider you configure, such as Google Gemini or an OpenAI-compatible provider.
Depending on how you use the app, NoteAI may handle the following information:
Note content: titles, text, tags, folders, and note metadata that you create.
AI settings: the selected AI provider, model, endpoint URL, and API key that you enter.
AI prompts and responses: note content, questions, or instructions you choose to send when using AI features.
Handwriting/sketch session information: temporary pen strokes created in the Smart Pen feature during the current session.
Notes and related note metadata are stored locally on your device using an on-device database. API keys and AI configuration are stored locally using Android encrypted storage where available. NoteAI does not provide its own account system, cloud backup service, or server for synchronizing your notes.
AI features are optional. When you use features such as summarizing, polishing, translating, extracting tasks, continuing writing, or chatting with a note, NoteAI sends the content necessary to perform that request to the AI provider you selected and configured.
Supported providers may include:
Google Gemini / Google AI Studio; and
OpenAI or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint selected by you.
The privacy practices of these providers are governed by their own privacy policies and terms. Please review the policy for the provider and endpoint you choose before sending sensitive, confidential, personal, health, financial, or other restricted information through AI features.
NoteAI does not control, operate, or retain data processed by an external AI provider. You are responsible for the API key, provider, model, and endpoint you configure.
We do not sell your personal information. NoteAI does not share your note content with third parties except when you actively use an AI feature, in which case the relevant prompt and context are transmitted to the selected AI provider to generate a response.
The app uses internet access only for AI provider requests and for opening external webpages requested by you, such as the Google AI Studio API-key page. Core note creation, editing, organization, and local search work on your device.
We use reasonable technical measures intended to protect locally stored AI settings, including encrypted preferences where supported by the Android device. However, no storage or transmission method is completely secure. You should protect your device with a screen lock and avoid placing highly sensitive information in AI prompts unless you understand and accept the selected provider's data practices.
Your notes remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall/clear the app's data. You can delete individual notes from the app. You can remove locally stored API keys and settings from the Settings screen or by clearing the app's storage through Android system settings.
AI providers may retain or process requests according to their own policies. Contact the applicable provider for information about deletion of data sent to that provider.
NoteAI is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to consent to data processing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or our own servers.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features or data practices change. The updated policy will be posted at the policy URL associated with the app and will show a revised effective date.
