Sofia Shchukina

Welcome! I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at the University of Chicago.

I am an applied microeconomist specializing in behavioral economics and public economics, with additional interests in the economics of education and healthcare.

My research uses field experiments, surveys, and quasi-experimental econometric methods applied to observational data to study how emerging technologies and sociocultural trends impact decision-making, behavior, and outcomes in areas such as partner choice, consumer purchases, and education.

I am on the 2026-2027 academic job market.
