Sofia Pedrini

I’m a PhD student in Philosophy at Ruhr University Bochum (Germany), where I am a member of the DFG Research Training Group Situated Cognition and the DFG Research Unit FOR2812 “Constructing Scenarios of the Past”.

My research lies at the intersection of philosophy of mind, phenomenology, and epistemology, with a particular focus on imagination and memory. I investigate how these faculties contribute to knowledge, justification, and understanding, as well as the epistemic limitations and distortions that may arise from their use in scientific, social, and everyday contexts.

My supervisors are Prof. Markus Werning and Prof. Peter Langland-Hassan.

I am a Steering Committee Member of The Philosophy of Memory Organization.
