The 60th Meeting of the Society for Natural Philosophy, themed "Continuum Theory and Life Sciences" will be hosted by the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Glasgow from 24-26 June 2026, in Glasgow, UK.
The proposed edition seeks to delve into new directions at the interface of continuum mechanics, applied mathematics, and the life sciences. These are areas experiencing rapid growth and offering transformative potential for biological and biomedical applications. The aim is to strengthen the mathematical underpinnings of problems ranging from cell mechanics and growth processes to tissue morphogenesis, multiscale modelling, and the mechanics of biological materials.
