Effective Date: July 06, 2026
[Sociotech Media] ("we," "us," or "our") operates the TrueStamp Camera mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App and the choices you have associated with that data.
Because privacy and security are core to the TrueStamp Camera experience, our fundamental rule is simple: We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, photos, videos, or location to any servers controlled by us.
By using the App, you agree to the local processing of information in accordance with this policy.
To provide the core functionality of the App, we request access to certain device permissions. This data is processed entirely on your local device.
Camera and Microphone: We require access to your device's camera and microphone to allow you to capture photos and record videos. The captured media is saved directly to your device's local storage. We do not transmit or view your media.
Location Data (Foreground Only): We require access to your GPS/Location data only while the app is actively in use. This data is used strictly to embed accurate geographical coordinates (EXIF data), altitude, and heading into your photos, and to verify the authenticity of the location (anti-spoofing). We do not track your location in the background, and your location data is never sent to us.
Storage: We request storage access to save the photos, videos, and PDF reports you generate directly to your device.
The App offers an optional feature to automatically back up your captured photos to your personal Google Drive account. If you choose to enable this feature:
You will authenticate directly with Google.
The App requests permission only to view and manage files and folders that the App itself has created in your Google Drive (specifically, the "TrueStamp Backup" folder).
Google API Limited Use Disclosure: TrueStamp Camera's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not read, transfer, or sell your Google Drive data to any third parties.
All photos, videos, project names, and custom notes you create within the App are stored in a local database (SQLite/Room) directly on your physical device. We do not own or maintain cloud servers to store your data.
Because your data lives on your device (or in your personal Google Drive), you are solely responsible for securing your device and managing your backups. If you delete the App, your local App data will be permanently deleted.
While we do not collect your data, the App utilizes third-party services that may collect information used to identify you, primarily for app functionality and billing:
Google Play Services: Used to provide highly accurate GPS location data and reverse-geocoding (converting coordinates to street addresses).
Google Play Billing: Used to process in-app purchases (e.g., the "Pro Unlock" upgrade). We do not have access to your credit card or payment information. All transactions are securely handled by Google.
For more information on how Google handles your data, please review the Google Privacy Policy.
Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
