Acknowledging Country

As beneficiaries of the colonial project resulting in what is now known as Australia, we pay our respects to the many First Nations people who inhabit this land.

While in Meanjin/Brisbane, we acknowledge the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera and Turrbal peoples, who are the traditional custodians of the lands and surrounding waterways upon which we will gather and traverse. We recognise their longstanding and continuing connections to land, water, and culture, and that the place that we gather to learn, collaborate, and share knowledge has served this purpose for tens of thousands of years before us. We pay respect to Elders past, present, and developing.
Sovereignty was never ceded.
