Charudatta Jadav

Dr. Charudatta Jadhav heads the Accessibility and Inclusive Design Research & Innovation at TCS. He has over 30 years of extensive experience and is passionate about technologies that drive market-making innovations and positively impact everyone on this planet. He is an advisor and member of working groups on many national and international bodies like IEEE, W3C, IDRBT (Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology), Govt of India to formulate Accessibility Standards, TISS Journal of Disability Studies & Research (TJDSR). He has filed 12 patents in the field of digital accessibility, six of which have been granted, published multiple papers, and has been invited as a keynote speaker for many esteemed conferences. Charu has represented India six times at the World Chess Championships and Olympiads for the Blind. Among the many awards he has received, Recipient of National Award for Best Disabled Employee, conferred on him by then President of India, Hon. Dr  APJ Abdul Kalam, ‘Super Idol’, Godfrey Philips award, Times Now - ‘Amazing Indian’ and ‘Helen Keller’ National Award to name a few. Charu drives several social initiatives around Education, Technology, Employability and Sports. 

Anupam Mandal

Dr. Anupam Mandal is presently working as a senior scientist at the Center for AI and Robotics, Defence R&D Organization, Bangalore, where he is heading the multi-lingual speech processing group. He obtained his BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT, Durgapur, MS (by research) from IIT, Madras and PhD from IIT Kharagpur, respectively.  He is leading a team of scientists and engineers towards the development of automatic speech and text processing solutions for real-life deployment requirements of GoI and defence users. His field of interest spans automatic speech, speaker and language recognition, speaker diarization, speech enhancement and information extraction from multilingual ASR transcripts. He received the DRDO Agni Award for excellence in self-reliance in 2009 and 2020 and National Science Day Medallion in 2019. He has several publications in international journals and conferences and has a granted patent to his credit. 

Arijit Sur

Prof. (Dr.) Arijit Sur received his M.Sc And M.Tech degrees from the University of Calcutta in 2001 and 2003, respectively. He received his PhD from the Dept. of CSE, IIT Kharagpur in 2010. Dr. Sur joined the Dept. of CSE, IIT Guwahati as an Assistant professor in 2009, and now he is a professor there. His research mainly focuses on Deep Learning approaches to solving different Computer Vision problems like image, video restoration, super-resolution, semantic segmentation, and change detection in various application domains like underwater vision, satellite and remote sensing image analysis, medical imaging, media forensics, etc. His group is also working on different machine learning-based problems like zero-shot learning, semi-supervised learning, robotic vision, and ML-based approaches for adaptive video streaming in a 5G environment. Dr. Sur founded a research project lab named "Multimedia Lab" in the Dept. of CSE in 2012. Currently, eight research scholars are pursuing their PhD work under his guidance, and eight students have graduated. Dr. Sur has coauthored 32 top-tier journal papers and over 50 conference papers in premier forums. Presently he is working as an Associate Editor of Multimedia Systems Journal, Springer, and is invited as an Associate Editor for APSIPA Trans. on Information and Signal Processing (ATSIP). 

Maharaj Mukherjee

Dr. Maharaj Mukherjee is a well-recognized expert in cutting-edge technologies, including Edge and Massively Distributed Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cognitive Deep Learning, Blockchain, and Internet-of-Things. Currently working in the Bank of America as Senior Vice President and Senior Architect Lead in the Technology Infrastructure Organization. Previously worked as Senior AI/ML Architect and SVP at the Employee Experience Technology within Bank of America. Before Bank of America, Maharaj Mukherjee worked for twenty years in IBM Research in various leading-edge technologies including Shape Processing Engine, Computational Lithography, Design for Manufacturing, Deep and Cognitive Machine Learning, and Watson Internet of Things. Maharaj Mukherjee is an IBM Master Inventor Emeritus and holds 125 US patents and 160 International Patents to his credit. He is also recognised as a top inventor in the Bank of America in 2020 and 2021. He received the Platinum Award from the Bank of America for being one of the top three inventors in 2021. He was also recognised by IBM for the “Twenty Patents from the Past Twenty Years” in 2015. He was inducted in IBM’s Inventor Wall of Fame in 2011. He holds a PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an MS from SUNY Stony Brook, and a B.Tech (Hons.) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He currently serves as a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) USA Awards Committee as well as a member of the IEEE Region 1 Awards Committee. He is also the current chair of the Central Area of IEEE USA.
