This autumn we are again gathering to spend a weekend in the beautiful Töyrylä manor house. The event will take place from 13th to 15th September 2024. The theme year is 1882. As an alternative for the whole weekend you can also make a shorter visit on Saturday afternoon to take a tour in the manor house, see the antique and art collections and enjoy coffee and refreshments in the beautiful rococo style pavilion.
Töyrylä manor house is situated in Artjärvi, Orimattila. The main building was finished in 1879. Today the manor house is an unique hotel with 6 bedrooms and most of the rooms in the first floor open to guests to explore. The weekend house party begins on Friday afternoon and ends at midday on Sunday. The participants will spend the weekend socializing, admiring the antique and art collections, and if the weather allows, enjoying the fresh autumn air in the park and playing badminton or croquet. On the evenings we will gather to enjoy a candlelight supper.
The dress code for the event is from the year 1871 to 1889. For the whole weekend it’s required to have a day dress and an evening dress. For the gentlemen a modern suit for day and a white tie for evening is fine, although you can sport your antique frock coat or morning coat if you want to. For breakfast you can wear a period nightie, negligee or dressing gown, but this is optional.
This year we will have a special treat of a masquerade on Saturday evening. The minimum requirement is to wear a mask with your evening dress, but it's also a fine opportunity to dress up inspired the by the fancy period masquerade costumes. Or why not dress up as your glorious ancestors in a historical dress?
The cost for the whole weekend is 295 € for person, including two nights in a shared bedrooms of two to four persons and all meals. It’s charged ca 3 weeks before the event by the hotel.
The cost for a day trip 30€ per person including a tour in the manor house and afternoon coffee and refreshments in the pavilion. This is payable on the site.
The registration for Societé Helsinki members opens 8th April and for everyone else 22th April, in case there is still room. The last day to registrate for participation is 11th of July. The link for the registration will be added to the Facebook page later.
