ANAMED research centre is on Istiklal Caddesi, in the centre of the European side of Istanbul.
ANAMED Research Centre, İstiklal Caddesi No: 181, Merkez Han, 34433, Beyoğlu İstanbul, Türkiye
The closest metro station to ANAMED is Şişhane (pronounced sheesh-hah-ney) - it's a well-known metro station that people will be able to direct you to. From there you can walk down Istiklal (which is the big street with the 'nostalgic' old-fashioned tram going up and down it) to find ANAMED.
By plane
Both Istanbul airports have good metro connections to the city centre.
Using the metro involves buying an Istanbulkart (you can buy these from the kiosks at most metro stations) and adding credit to it.
From IST you can change at Gayrettepe to the M2 Green line to go to Şişhane.
From SAW you can change at Ayrılık Çeşmesi Station to the Marmaray line and then change again at Yenikapi to the M2 Metro line. If you fancy a ferry trip you can get a ferry from Kadikoy to Karakoy and then walk up the hill to Istiklal (or get the funicular from Karakoy).
By taxi
The price of a taxi from IST to the city centre is roughly 1200 TL (about 30 Euros), but this tends to rise regularly, and sometimes non-Turkish speakers can be overcharged.
A taxi from SAW is not recommended because it's quite far. The metro connections are better.
By bus
You can get the buses, but realistically the traffic in Istanbul is unreliable and therefore the buses are too.
Activities
You can walk to lots of cool touristic places from Istiklal, which is a tourist attraction itself - including Galata Tower and Taksim Square. Nearby areas that are nice to walk around are Galata, Pera and Cihangir. Karakoy and the Bosphorus is just down the hill from Istiklal. The area is touristic and safe, and is a popular destination for a day trip.
From Istiklal you can easily get to the 'old-town' by tram (from Karakoy) or metro, which is where famous sights such as Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern and Topkapi Palace are.
