The Application never asks for, captures, views, stores, logs, or transmits your account passwords, usernames, or payment information.

Direct Official Web Authentication

Any login functionality, including Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube login, takes place entirely inside an isolated Android WebView loading the platform's official encrypted HTTPS web page.

Local Session Tokens Only

Authentication tokens or session cookies generated during official login are saved solely in your device's local, protected application sandbox (SharedPreferences).

These tokens remain strictly on your local device and are used only to process download requests initiated by you.

Inaccessible to Developers or Third Parties

Our developers, remote backend servers, and third-party stakeholders have no technical ability or access to view, intercept, or retrieve your session tokens, account credentials, or private credentials.

2. Nature of Media Content & Data Fetching

User-Driven Utility

The Application functions strictly as an interactive client tool operated on demand by the user.

Public & User-Authorized Content

All media, video streams, audio streams, and images parsed or downloaded through the Application are either:

1. Publicly available content accessible to any web browser on the internet without restriction; or

2. User-authorized content accessible only because you logged into your own account in the in-app browser, thereby explicitly granting on-device permission to retrieve media you have lawful access to view.

No Remote Media Storing

We do not host, store, mirror, or archive any media files or videos on our servers.

All extraction and download processes run directly on-device or stream directly from content delivery networks to your local device storage.

3. Permissions & On-Device Processing

The Application requests only the minimal permissions strictly necessary to execute its functions.

Permission

Purpose

Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, DATA_SYNC)

Allows large media downloads and video/audio muxing to continue uninterrupted in the background if you switch away from the app.

Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)

Used solely to notify you of active download progress and completion. We do not send marketing spam notifications.

Internet & Network State (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE)

Required to query video URLs, stream downloads, and load web pages in the in-app browser.

4. Download History & User Data Control

100% Local History

The download history list, including video titles, URLs, and thumbnails, is saved strictly on your local device.

User Deletion

You can delete individual items or clear the entire download history at any time using the Clear History button in the Application.

Deleting the Application or clearing its app data instantly removes all stored history and cached session cookies.

5. WhatsApp Status Saver

The WhatsApp Status Saver feature simply reads cached media files already stored on your local device by WhatsApp, subject to your storage permission.

No WhatsApp messages, chats, contacts, or private communications are accessed, collected, or transmitted.

6. Third-Party Advertisements & Analytics

Ad Providers — Google AdMob

The Application uses third-party advertising networks, such as Google AdMob, to display non-intrusive advertisements that help keep the Application free.

Device Identifiers

These advertising networks may use anonymous device identifiers, such as the Google Advertising ID, and cookies to serve ads appropriate to your device and region in accordance with Google's Advertising Policies.

No Selling of Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal data to Facebook, data brokers, or any other third parties.

7. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed to children under 13 years of age or under 16 in the European Union.

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children.

If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal data, we will immediately take steps to delete such data.

PART 2: TERMS OF SERVICE / TERMS OF USE

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Social - Media Downloader.

By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must discontinue use of the Application and uninstall it immediately.

2. Intellectual Property Rights & Copyright Compliance

Personal, Non-Commercial Use

The Application is provided solely for personal, private, and non-commercial utility, such as:

• Offline viewing

• Personal archiving

• Educational reference

• Other lawful personal uses of content you have rights to access

Respect for Copyright Holders

You agree not to use the Application to infringe upon the intellectual property, copyright, trademark, or privacy rights of any content creator or third party.

You are solely responsible for verifying that you have the legal right, consent, or applicable fair-use justification to download and store any media file.

No Commercial Redistribution

You may not redistribute, re-broadcast, monetize, or publicly distribute downloaded content without the express written authorization of the original copyright owner.

3. User Conduct & Prohibited Uses

When using the Application, you agree that you will not:

1. Use the Application for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.

2. Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the security or operation of the Application.

3. Use automated bots, scrapers, or excessive requests that burden third-party networks.

4. Download or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or infringing under applicable local or international laws.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Social - Media Downloader and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the Application or any downloaded content.

We are not responsible for any copyright violations, intellectual property claims, account bans, or restrictions imposed by third-party platforms resulting from your misuse of the Application.
