Brian Martin

Brian Martin has been a player, coach, and trainer for the past 20+ years. Brian played for Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. Currently he is head coach for the Newton High School Boys' Varsity Soccer Team. During the 2012 season he helped lead the Braves to the first state title in Sussex County history. In 2013 and 2016 coach Martin again led the Braves to the Group II State Final. Coach Martin has been honored as both the NJ Herald Coach of the Year and the Mugs Media Coach of the Year. He is a 4th grade teacher at Green Hills School.


Allen Thurlow

Allen Thurlow, a former All State and All County defender for Bernards High School, went on to play college soccer for Muhlenberg College (Allentown, Pa) at the Division III level. Allen was a former player at the youth level with Somerset Hills Soccer Club(now FC Berna). He aspires to help teach youth soccer and give players a positive experience with the sport. Currently, Allen has coached for FC Berna as a youth coach, and also as a varsity assistant for Bernards High School and led BHS to 3 state championships, in 2006 and 2011, and 2016, and a Somerset County Title in 2016. as well as numerous conference championships over the past 10 years. Allen is also an elementary school technology & design teacher, having worked at Bedwell Elementary School for the past 8 years.

Matt Martinka

Matt Martinka is a Newton High School Alumnus and former All State Selection from the Newton High School program. Matt was also a two-time team captain for the Division I college soccer program at Bowling Green State University. Currently, Matt is a certified elementary school teacher and local youth soccer trainer. Additionally, Matt has been the Freshmen Boys' Soccer coach at Newton High School for the past two seasons.

Andy Weber

Andy Weber is a former Soccer Skills Academy camper, who is has experience playing Division 1 soccer at Rutgers University. Weber is a three time Sussex County player of the year at Newton High School, and led them to their first state title in 2012.

Derek Boudreau

Coach Boudreau is the Head Coach of the Bernards High School Girls’ Soccer Team, and the Reading Specialist at Bernardsville Middle School. Coach Boudreau spent 12 years as an assistant coach for the Ridge and Bernards boys and girls soccer teams, winning multiple conference, county, and state titles. Coach Boudreau’s varsity girls’ soccer team won the conference title in 2021 as the youngest team in the area, and cannot wait to make this community proud again in 2022.


Donny Destefano

Donny DeStefano, who was a Division II All-League soccer player in college, has several years of assistant and head coaching experience at the high school level, including three years as part of the Newton soccer program. Donny was also a standout athlete at Newton High School in the 1990s.



Katie Weber

Katie Weber was a four year starter at Newton High School. During her senior year she helped the Braves to a 21-2-1 record which is still the best in program history. After high school Katie attended Drew University where she was a four year starter for the women's program. Currently, Katie is working on getting her masters in psychology and counseling.
