About Mr. Sobh

Hello everyone! My name is Sabah Sobh and I've been teaching for 17 years. My journey to become a teacher has been a long and interesting one, and I do believe that being a teacher is the best opportunity in the world! I have taught in every grade level from Pre-K all the way to college. I've also had experience teaching all subjects, but overall, I really love science because science helps us understand the natural world around us.

I grew up in Long Beach (LBC) and stayed there until I reached middle school and then my parents decided to make the move to Corona. I lived in Orange County for 9 years and currently moved back to Corona after buying a house just recently.

About 12 years ago, I launched a virtual high school that allowed kids to graduate high school in 2 years instead of 4.

In the past, I had my own learning center called Brain Fusion Academy. That's where I began to teach computer programming, robotics, and a bunch of other tech stuff.

I have a set of twins, a boy and girl, and they're both 9 years old. They're my little ninjas!

My Education

I went to California State University, Fullerton and started off by studying computer science. About halfway through, I transitioned and graduated with my BA in cognitive psychology with a minor in computer science. I love studying the brain and how the environment affects how people think and remember. I did research with a professor about Parkinson's disease. I did this really interesting study with rats and caffeine. :)

Then I went back and received my teaching credential in 2008. My credential had an emphasis in educational technology (how to teach with technology).

A little bit after that, I decided to go back and get my Masters degree in education.

The cool thing is that all my degrees are from the same place. CSUF.

My hobbies and interests

One of my favorite things to do is study and practice martial arts. I currently study tai chi chuan and kung fu. These are considered to be one of the best "soft" martial arts. This means that you don't need to be strong, but fast and focused. I briefly studied ninjutsu in the past.

I also love to hike and go camping. Connecting with nature is very important to me.

In my free time, I lock myself away for a couple hours and play the newest Assassin's Creed game.

I tend to meditate when I have time.
