If you want a compact, travel-ready adapter with superior battery longevity and a dedicated cable storage solution for your ear clip headphones for cycling or long flights, choose SOARUN 5.4; if you need a device with slightly longer playtime claims, a white finish to match modern aesthetics, and a more robust two-year warranty structure, choose MrSpark 5.4.
• SOARUN 5.4: Offers a comprehensive dual-mode (TX/RX) experience with aptX-LL for zero audio lag and includes essential airplane adapters in the box, but its black ABS enclosure is purely functional rather than stylish. Best for travelers who need a complete kit out of the box.
• MrSpark 5.4: Delivers a sleek white design with a unique internal cable slot to keep cords tidy and boasts a claimed 30-hour battery life, though it lacks the explicit low-latency aptX-LL focus found in the competitor. Best for commuters prioritizing portability and battery endurance over gaming sync.
The SOARUN 5.4 is engineered as a true 2-in-1 solution that transforms any non-Bluetooth device into a wireless audio hub. Its standout feature is the inclusion of both Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX) modes, which means it can stream audio from your TV or airplane seat to two pairs of headphones simultaneously, or act as a receiver to feed sound from your phone into older car stereos or wired speakers. This versatility makes it particularly compelling for families sharing a ride or couples watching movies without disturbing others. The device relies on Bluetooth 5.4 technology paired with aptX-LL, a specific codec designed to minimize latency. This is not just a marketing buzzword; for anyone using this as best wireless bluetooth headphones for cycling or during high-action gaming sessions, the ability to synchronize audio with video is critical. Without aptX-LL, you might notice a delay between what you see on screen and what you hear through your ears, breaking immersion.
The physical design is utilitarian, built from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) in a classic black finish. It measures roughly 2.17 inches by 1.18 inches by 0.39 inches, making it small enough to slip into a pocket, yet substantial enough to house a 300mAh battery. The battery performance is rated for up to 24 hours in Receiver mode and 20 hours in Transmitter mode, which covers most daily commutes and many short-haul flights. The kit is notably complete, including an RCA cable and a specialized dual airplane jack adapter right out of the package. If you are someone who travels frequently and wants to ensure you have the necessary connectors for legacy airplane entertainment systems without hunting for separate cables, this all-in-one approach is a significant advantage. The controls are intuitive, utilizing multifunction buttons for volume and calls, ensuring you can manage your audio without fumbling with your primary device.
However, this product is not for everyone. Furthermore, if your primary use case is strictly listening to music on a gym machine where you don't need to pair two headphones at once, the complexity of the dual-mode interface might be more than you need. The black color scheme is also a consideration; if you prefer gear that blends in with lighter-colored bags or clothing, the dark ABS housing stands out. Ultimately, this unit fits the user who values technical specifications like low latency and comprehensive connectivity options over aesthetic minimalism.

The MrSpark 5.4 positions itself as a premium, travel-focused accessory with a distinct emphasis on convenience and battery endurance. Its most defining characteristic is the "Charge-While-Using" capability combined with a massive 30-hour battery life rating. For the frequent flyer or the commuter who never knows when they will find an outlet, knowing you can listen for over 30 hours on a single charge—or even keep listening while the USB-C cable powers the unit—is a game-changer. This makes it an excellent candidate for those seeking the best wireless on ear headphones for cycling scenarios where recharging isn't an option, or for long road trips where power sources are scarce. The device is marketed heavily around the idea of "Wireless Freedom," aiming to eliminate the tangle of cords that often accompanies travel accessories.
Physically, the MrSpark distinguishes itself with a white plastic enclosure that feels distinct from the standard black tech accessories. Its dimensions are slightly different, measuring about 1.57 inches deep, 0.47 inches wide, and 2.16 inches high, giving it a somewhat taller profile than the SOARUN. A clever design element here is the dedicated storage slot for the 3.5mm cable harness. Instead of wrapping the cable loosely around the device or carrying it separately, the cable tucks away neatly inside the unit, protecting the interface from damage and keeping your bag organized. This attention to detail suggests a brand that understands the pain points of travelers who lose small accessories easily. The device also features a clear battery indicator, so you always know exactly how much power remains before you head out the door.
Despite these strengths, there are limitations to consider. The MrSpark focuses primarily on the Transmitter function for streaming audio to wireless headphones; while it works well for TVs and airplanes, it does not explicitly advertise the same level of dual-mode flexibility (acting as a receiver for wired speakers) as the SOARUN. There is also a warning regarding electrical current sounds when charging, which could be distracting in quiet environments like a library or a silent plane cabin. The warranty structure is another differentiator, offering a manufacturer warranty that extends to 24 months upon registration, providing a longer safety net than the standard one-year term found on similar budget units. This product suits the user who prioritizes battery life, cable management, and a longer warranty period above all else.
• Best for Audio Sync & Gaming → SOARUN 5.4, thanks to its explicit aptX-LL technology which reduces latency for real-time audio.
• Best for Long-Duration Travel → MrSpark 5.4, with its higher 30-hour battery claim and the ability to use the device while charging.
• Best All-In-One Kit → SOARUN 5.4, as it includes the RCA cable and dual airplane jack adapter directly in the box.
• Best Cable Management → MrSpark 5.4, featuring a built-in storage slot to hide the auxiliary cable and prevent loss.
• Best for Dual Headphone Sharing → SOARUN 5.4, explicitly designed to connect two headphones simultaneously with dedicated indicator lights.
• Best Warranty Coverage → MrSpark 5.4, offering a 24-month warranty after registration compared to the standard 12-month term.
• Best for Color Preference → MrSpark 5.4 (White) vs SOARUN 5.4 (Black), depending on whether you want a neutral or discreet look.
• Best for Car Audio Integration → SOARUN 5.4, due to its dedicated RX mode allowing connection to wired car speakers.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally choose the SOARUN 5.4 for my daily needs, particularly because I prioritize audio synchronization and versatility. The inclusion of aptX-LL is a tangible benefit for anyone using these as ear clip headphones for cycling or watching videos on a tablet; the lag reduction is something you feel, not just read about. While the MrSpark offers a longer battery life, the 20-to-24-hour range of the SOARUN is sufficient for almost any commute or flight, and the ability to switch between transmitter and receiver modes adds a layer of utility that the MrSpark doesn't quite match. The SOARUN feels like a more complete tool for the modern user who needs one device to handle multiple audio environments without compromise.
Yes, both models support Bluetooth 5.4 for stable connections, but the SOARUN 5.4 is technically better for active use due to its aptX-LL low latency, which prevents audio lag during movement.
The SOARUN 5.4 comes with a dedicated dual airplane jack adapter in the box, whereas the MrSpark 5.4 requires you to rely on the included cable or a separate adapter for older seat systems.
According to the manufacturer data sheets, neither the SOARUN 5.4 nor the MrSpark 5.4 is recommended for use with hearing aids, as they may cause interference or electrical sounds.
The MrSpark 5.4 claims a longer battery life of over 30 hours, while the SOARUN 5.4 provides up to 24 hours in receiver mode and 20 hours in transmitter mode.
