Founded in 2018, the Society of Astronautics and Rocketry (SOAR) is the University of Pittsburgh's official competitive high-power rocketry club.
With 6 years of rocketry experience, SOAR has set its goal to compete every year in the annual International Rocketry Engineering Challenge (IREC) Spaceport America Cup.
Our Mission
Our organization seeks to design, build, and compete in high-power rocketry competitions with challenging projects that are fully developed by undergraduate student members. We strive to create an environment that excels in all areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
We are open to all majors seeking to get hands-on experience with Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, and Administration.
