Purpose
Transients and supernovae have become increasingly important targets in modern astrophysics. They are key laboratories for studying explosive nucleosynthesis, the enrichment of the universe with heavy elements and dust, and, in some cases, their use as standard candles to probe the accelerated expansion of the universe. In recent years, wide-field, high-cadence surveys have enabled the discovery of transients and supernovae at very early phases. Such observations provide crucial information on circumstellar environments, progenitor systems, and explosion mechanisms. They have also revealed previously unknown classes of explosive phenomena that were not predicted by theoretical studies, providing new challenges for explosion models and progenitor scenarios. This workshop aims to discuss the origins of the growing diversity of supernovae and transients from both observational and theoretical perspectives, and to share recent progress and emerging insights in this rapidly developing field.
