[18th February, 2025] Joint Seminar with THU (Prof. Ning Zhang)
On February 18–19, 2025, the Seoul National University Power Systems Laboratory (SNUPSL) took part in a joint seminar with Professor Ning Zhang’s research group at Tsinghua University (THU). Representing SNUPSL, Professor Gyu-Sub Lee presented his recent work on stability-constrained optimization, while Dr. Seungchan Jo introduced advances in AI-aided network reconfiguration. The seminar also brought together all SNUPSL members, including graduate students, along with Professor Jae-Won Chang of Chung-Ang University, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas. Through this event, both sides expressed their hope to further strengthen and sustain their collaborative partnership in the years ahead.
[23th January, 2025] Student-oriented Joint Seminar with ICL
From January 20–23, 2025, Professors Fei Teng and Adrià Junyent-Ferré of Imperial College London (ICL) visited the Seoul National University Power Systems Laboratory (SNUPSL) accompanied by five Ph.D. students and one postdoctoral researcher. During their stay, SNUPSL hosted a student-led international symposium supported by Seoul National University, while the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI) and HD Hyundai Electric organized a seminar series featuring the two ICL faculty members. In addition, the Korea Institute of Power Electronics (KIPE) held an e-grid workshop with all participants. The visit sparked in-depth discussions on power system optimization in inverter-based resource (IBR) dominated systems and DC grids. Both sides expressed hope that such academic exchange programs will continue to flourish well into the future.
[6th September, 2024] Presentation in ICL Summer School
On September 6th, 2024, Gyu-Sub Lee delivered a presentation on "Power System Strength and Its Optimization to Accommodate High Penetration of IBRs" at the ICL (Imperial College London) Summer School on IBR-Dominant Power Systems. The event saw the participation of around 60 students, selected from over 200 applicants. We look forward to reconnecting with all our colleagues in the future.
[1st March, 2024] Homepage Renewal
On March 1, 2024, the Energy System Control and Operation (ESCO) laboratory headed by Professor Gyu-Sub Lee and located at the Korea Institute of Energy Technology (KENTECH) will relocate to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Seoul National University (SNU). Furthermore, the organization has undergone a name change to power systems laboratory (PSL) and has renewed its homepage.
