Modern music  first started in the 20th century in the late 1960s and became very popular in 1970s. In modern times in the 60s and 70s , Christians started spreading the news about Jesus christ to non- jews.  The Jesus christ movement,  Christian movement  began on the west coast of the united states.  In the  late 1980s the  members of the movement  were called Jesus people ( followers of Jesus christ. Modern music in the Jesus movement was very different but also similar to now.  People back then usually use more guitars specifically electric guitars and a lot of singing . Now of days people use guitars still but also pianos, i think its a big change because when you use pianos it creates a sound by using soft keys to imply a calm tone or sad , also when singing is combined with the rest of the instruments it starts to create beat  and rhythm and a fast pace sound because it has to match the flow of the song. Combined meter would be great when preforming worship songs because it uses 1- 2- 1- 2-3- beats in a pattern of 1-2-1-2-3., and duple meter uses 1- 2- 1- 2 . It can even sound polyphonic because it has different melodies, and the sound corresponds with the different melodies.
